AbstractIn this work, we present a complete system to produce an automatic linguistic reporting about the customer activity patterns inside open malls, a mixed distribution of classical malls joined with the shops on the street. These reports can assist to design marketing campaigns by means of identifying the best places to catch the attention of customers. Activity patterns are estimated with process mining techniques and the key information of localization. Localization is obtained with a parallelized solution based on WiFi fingerprint system to speed up the solution. In agreement with the best practices for human evaluation of natural language generation systems, the linguistic quality of the generated report was evaluated by 41 experts who filled in an online questionnaire. Results are encouraging, since the average global score of the linguistic quality dimension is 6.17 (0.76 of standard deviation) in a 7-point Likert scale. This expresses a high degree of satisfaction of the generated reports and validates the adequacy of automatic natural language textual reports as a complementary tool to process model visualization.

Massive amounts of business process event logs are collected and stored by modern information systems. Model discovery aims to discover a process model from such event logs, however, most of the existing approaches still suffer from low efficiency when facing large-scale event logs. Event log sampling techniques provide an effective scheme to improve the efficiency of process discovery, but the existing techniques still cannot guarantee the quality of model mining. Therefore, a sampling approach based on set coverage algorithm named set coverage sampling approach is proposed. The proposed sampling approach has been implemented in the open-source process mining toolkit ProM. Furthermore, experiments using a real event log data set from conformance checking and time performance analysis show that the proposed event log sampling approach can greatly improve the efficiency of log sampling on the premise of ensuring the quality of model mining.

Process mining is automated acquisition of process models from event logs. Although many process mining techniques have been developed, most of them are based on control flow. Meanwhile, the existing role-oriented process mining methods focus on correctness and integrity of roles while ignoring role complexity of the process model, which directly impacts understandability and quality of the model. To address these problems, we propose a genetic programming approach to mine the simplified process model. Using a new metric of process complexity in terms of roles as the fitness function, we can find simpler process models. The new role complexity metric of process models is designed from role cohesion and coupling, and applied to discover roles in process models. Moreover, the higher fitness derived from role complexity metric also provides a guideline for redesigning process models. Finally, we conduct case study and experiments to show that the proposed method is more effective for streamlining the process by comparing with related studies.

In the regular course of business, companies spend a lot of effort reading and interpreting documents, a highly manual process that involves tedious tasks, such as identifying dates and names or locating the presence or absence of certain clauses in a contract. Dealing with natural language is complex and further complicated by the fact that these documents come in various formats (scanned image, digital formats) and have different degrees of internal structure (spreadsheets, invoices, text documents). We present DICR, an end-to-end, modular, and trainable system that automates the mundane aspects of document review and allows humans to perform the validation. The system is able to speed up this work while increasing quality of information extracted, consistency, throughput, and decreasing time to decision. Extracted data can be fed into other downstream applications (from dashboards to Q&A and to report generation).

Background Pediatric home hospitalization improves the quality of life of children and their families, involving them in their children’s care, while favoring the work-life balance of the family. In this context, technology guarantees accessibility to assistance, which provides security to users. From the perspective of the health care system, this could lower the demand for hospital services and reduce hospitalization costs. Objective This study aimed to assess families’ degree of satisfaction and acceptability of pediatric telehomecare and explore the clinical characteristics of children benefiting from the program. Methods A total of 95 children and their families participated in the home-hospitalization pilot program operated by Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Barcelona, Spain. Families were visited once a day and patients were monitored using a kit consisting of a scale, a thermometer, a pulse oximeter, and a blood pressure monitor. Data on parental experience, satisfaction, safety, and preference for care was collected by means of a questionnaire. Data about the children’s characteristics were collected from medical records. Descriptive and comparative statistics were used to analyze the data. Results A total of 65 survey respondents expressed very high levels of satisfaction. Families reported their experiences as being very positive, preferring home hospitalization in 94% (61/65) of cases, and gave high scores regarding the use of telemonitoring devices. The program did not record any readmissions after 72 hours and reported a very low number of adverse incidents. The user profile was very heterogeneous, highlighting a large number of respiratory patients and patients with infections that required endovenous antibiotic therapy. Conclusions Pediatric home hospitalization through telemonitoring is a feasible and desirable alternative to traditional hospitalization, both from the perspective of families and the hospital. The results of this analysis showed a very high degree of satisfaction with the care received and that the home-based telemonitoring system resulted in few adverse incidents.

The aesthetic function of Dentistry has been increasingly requested by patients who are looking for a harmonious smile. High expectations and demands require the professional to be current and master the techniques available to achieve success in the procedures performed. The use of ceramic laminates has increased exponentially because it is a conservative technique with enamel biomimicry. Moreover, it is a technique already consolidated in the literature and whose results provide a high degree of satisfaction to patients. Thus, this case report aims to describe the clinical sequence of clinical crown augmentation in teeth 15 to 25 associated with lithium disilicate ceramic laminates for diastema closure, allowing similarity to the natural characteristics of the teeth. The results of the procedures depend directly on proper planning and execution, and knowledge of the operative technique, restorative materials and quality of prosthetic work are essential to ensure work excellence and patient satisfaction. At the end, the patient had her complaint resolved by a conservative technique and consolidated by the literature promoting health, satisfaction, and self-esteem.

The aim of process mining is to identify and extract process patterns from data logs to reconstruct an overall process model. And the model’s structural complexity directly impacts readability and quality of the model. Immune systems have many characteristics such as uniqueness, autonomous, recognition of foreigners, distributed detection, and noise tolerance. This paper outlines an alternative approach to business process mining utilizing an artificial immune systems (AIS) technique, and some main steps and operators were depicted.

Deregulated and open markets have shaped an increasingly turbulent and uncertain environment especially for the travel agent. Notably, most companies nowadays focus on an effective service marketing mix to enhance the quality of their services. Therefore, this paper aims to discuss issues and challenges faced by Umrah travel agencies in Malaysia, and proposes a newly developed marketing mix to be adopted by the Umrah travel industry. The service marketing mix model extends the current 7Ps marketing mix; by the inclusion of the new P which is Pleasure. The services delivered through 8 Ps will result in a better performance of knowledge and skill enhancements which subsequently will enable the Malaysian Umrah travel industry to compete globally thus producing a high degree of satisfaction among stakeholders. This paper ends by drawing some conclusions and identifying areas for further research.

The proper representation of a Business process is important for its execution and understanding. BPMN has been used as the standard notation for business process models, however domain specialists, which are experts in the business, do not have necessarily the modeling skills to easily read a business process model. It is easier for them to read in natural language. In this work, we propose a language-independent framework, instantiated using Java standard technology, for generating automatically natural language texts from business process models. A case study was conducted to evaluate the quality of the generated text. We found empirical support that the textual work instructions can be considered equivalent, in terms of knowledge representation, to process models represented in BPMN. Regarding the framework output quality (textual descriptions) 86% of the subjects claims that it vary from excellent to good.

Objectives: Recent technological advances have led to the capability of performing high resolution imaging of the tympanic membrane. Smartphone technologies and applications have provided the opportunity to capture digital images and easily share them. The smartphone otoscope device was developed as a simple system that can convert a smartphone into a digital otoscope. This device has the prospective ability to improve physician-patient communication and assist with the diagnosis and management of ear disease. Our objective was to evaluate the feasibility and physician/parental satisfaction using the Cellscope® smartphone attachment for at home tympanostomy tube monitoring. Methods: Children between 6 months and 15 years of age at an urban tertiary children’s hospital that were scheduled for bilateral tympanostomy tube insertion or underwent bilateral tympanostomy tube surgery were prospectively enrolled in the study. Comparisons were made between parental home-recorded videos and findings during in-office otoscopy. Two independent otolaryngologists reviewed the videos and concordance between inter-rater agreements was calculated. Acceptability and use questionnaires were administered to physicians and parents. Results: There was good intra-rater agreement between traditional otoscopy and video-otoscopy for tube extruding, tube blocked and tube extruded with at least 80% agreement ( P < .05) and excellent inter-rater agreement between physicians for nearly all tube variables ( P < .0001) There was a high degree of satisfaction with this mode of surveillance. Parents and physicians agreed that the CellScope® smartphone was easy to use, helpful with the occurrence of acute events, and appeared to improve quality of care. Conclusions: The CellScope® smartphone is feasible for use in tympanostomy tube surveillance. Use of the device may allow otolaryngologists to easily follow a child’s tympanostomy tube remotely over time and offer greater parental satisfaction.
