This study aimed to understand the impact of ethical codes on Saudi journalists’ perceptions toward mobile journalism (MOJO). Three major ethical dimensions were examined, including seeking truth, minimizing harm, and being accountable in news coverage. A survey link created with SurveyMonkey was transmitted via social media avenues, such as Twitter and WhatsApp, where Saudi journalists can complete the questionnaire and then share the link with other Saudi journalists. A total of 124 Saudi journalists were recruited by this snowball sampling approach, while the Codes of Ethics of Society of Professional Journalists was adapted as major measurements for three ethical dimensions, including seeking truth, minimizing harm, and being accountable. Results found that all three ethical dimensions of professional journalists generated significant influences on Saudi journalists’ perceptions toward MOJO. Specifically, minimizing harm was found as the most powerful factor that affected Saudi journalists’ perceptions toward MOJO, followed by being accountable and seeking truth, indicating that Saudi journalists who were more likely to seek truth, minimize harm, and be accountable would exhibit more positive perceptions toward MOJO. Although using smartphone as a journalistic tool was a key factor toward Saudi journalists’ MOJO perceptions, it was not as powerful as three ethical dimensions that affected their MOJO perceptions. Keywords: mobile journalism, codes of ethics, professional journalism, Saudi journalists

The coalescent model represents how individuals sampled from a population may have originated from a last common ancestor. The bounded coalescent model is obtained by conditioning the coalescent model such that the last common ancestor must have existed after a certain date. This conditioned model arises in a variety of applications, such as speciation, horizontal gene transfer or transmission analysis, and yet the bounded coalescent model has not been previously analysed in detail. Here we describe a new algorithm to simulate from this model directly, without resorting to rejection sampling. We show that this direct simulation algorithm is more computationally efficient than the rejection sampling approach. We also show how to calculate the probability of the last common ancestor occurring after a given date, which is required to compute the probability of realisations under the bounded coalescent model. Our results are applicable in both the isochronous (when all samples have the same date) and heterochronous (where samples can have different dates) settings. We explore the effect of setting a bound on the date of the last common ancestor, and show that it affects a number of properties of the resulting phylogenies. All our methods are implemented in a new R package called BoundedCoalescent which is freely available online.

Objective Because hiccup palliation remains an unmet clinical need, we report here on an early experience with Hiccupops, ® a patented product designed for the express purpose of providing a mechanism-based intervention for hiccup palliation. Methods Meter Health, the developer and manufacturer of this patented product, used a purposive sampling approach to allow individuals with hiccups and a desire for hiccup palliation to purchase their agent and then to report on its efficacy or lack thereof. The authors of this report were provided these outcome data and allowed to analyze, report, and publish with no input from Meter Health with the exception of comments on accuracy. Results This report focused on 43 surveys that were completed. In response to the question, “Did the Hiccupops work for the person they were purchased for?” 29 (67%) responded, “yes.” Seven individuals (16%) responded, “no;” and 7 (16%) were “not sure.” Write-in comments appeared to substantiate the effective palliative nature of the intervention: “A friend with 10 days of hiccups following… brain tumor surgery, after 2 days, they stopped!!!#.” Another noted the following: “I like that if my hiccups get painful they’re there as a quick relief.” Less favorable comments were also noted: “She couldn’t get past the…. taste.” Another read as follows: “They were not effective in stopping my father’s intractable hiccups…. I like that there is someone out there who cares about trying to stop people’s hiccups.” Conclusions This patented product appears to palliate hiccups in some individuals and merits further study.

This study aims to explain the role of digital marketing adoption in mediating the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic and the intensity of competition on business performance, which is seen from the perspective of financial performance and non-financial performance. This research was conducted on the culinary sector SMEs in Bali. The size of the sample used is 210 culinary sector SMEs with a purposive sampling approach, namely the culinary sector SMEs that have adopted digital marketing. The analytical tool used is SEM-PLS. The results of the study show that the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic and the intensity of competition has a negative and significant effect on business performance, both financial and non-financial performance. The adoption of digital marketing was unable to mediate the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic and the intensity of competition on financial performance, but the adoption of digital marketing was capable in mediating the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic and the intensity of competition on non-financial performance. Therefore, the adoption of digital marketing needs to be re-optimized to improve business performance, both financial and non-financial performance.

According to WHO, the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls in developing countries is around 53.7%, anemia often attacks young women due to stress, menstruation, or late meals. Lack of iron in adolescents results in pale, weak, tired, dizzy, and decreased concentration in learning. An academician has a busy schedule of lectures and activities so he doesn’t pay much attention to intake. Therefore, the researcher wanted to see if this affected Hb levels which could cause students to be weak, tired, lethargic, negligent, and forgetful in their activities. This research was conducted at the health campus of STIKes Surya Global Yogyakarta in 2021. This study aims to see the correlation between balanced nutrition with anemia in health students at STIKes Surya Global Yogyakarta in 2021.The research design used quantitative descriptive with a non-random sampling approach. The sampling technique was accidental sampling. The sample used was 63 samples of health students who were in the STIKes Surya Global campus hostel during the covid-19 period. The purpose of this study is to analyze whether the application of the marketing mix strategy through the SWOT formulation can increase the sales volume of processed wood. This research was conducted at the office of PT. Three "Rs" located at Jalan Sultan Abdullah No. 75 Makassar, with the research time required by the author is approximately 3 (three) months starting from the beginning of May to July 2009. The population in this study are all consumers who use processed wood products, for housing development purposes in South Sulawesi, especially in the city of Makassar in the last year, so the population in this study is unknown. While the sample is as many as 300 respondents. Sampling was used using a non-probability sampling approach and the judgment method. Based on the results of the application of SWOT analysis, it appears that the strategy used by PT. The three "Rs" of Makassar in increasing processed wood sales are implementing the SO strategy, which is to make strengths to take advantage of opportunities, then the WO strategy by minimizing weaknesses to maintain opportunities, then the ST strategy using strengths to overcome threats and WT strategies that minimize weaknesses and avoid threats.

Video compact representation aims to obtain a representation that could reflect the kernel mode of video content and concisely describe the video. As most information in complex videos is either noisy or redundant, some researchers have instead focused on long-term video semantics. Recent video compact representation methods heavily rely on the segmentation accuracy of video semantics. In this paper, we propose a novel framework to address these challenges. Specifically, we designed a novel continuous video semantic embedding model to learn the actual distribution of video words. First, an embedding model based on the continuous bag of words method is proposed to learn the video embeddings, integrated with a well-designed discriminative negative sampling approach, which helps emphasize the convincing clips in the embedding while weakening the influence of the confusing ones. Second, an aggregated distribution pooling method is proposed to capture the semantic distribution of kernel modes in videos. Finally, our well-trained model can generate compact video representations by direct inference, which provides our model with a better generalization ability compared with those of previous methods. We performed extensive experiments on event detection and the mining of representative event parts. Experiments on TRECVID MED11 and CCV datasets demonstrated the effectiveness of our method. Our method could capture the semantic distribution of kernel modes in videos and shows powerful potential to discover and better describe complex video patterns.
