In this paper, in order to achieve real-time remote monitoring of fire site, we designed a intelligent remote fire monitoring system based on ZigBee network and GPRS network. This system, used ZigBee and sensor to build data acquisition and short distance transmission network and combined with GPRS wireless data transmission and SMS alarm ,cooperates with the server and PC to build a remote monitoring scheme based on GRPS.

This design belongs to a branch module of the fire monitoring alarm system: data transmission module. This whole fire monitoring alarm system based on ARM9 whose core is s3c2440, mainly consists of sensor module, server module and data transmission module. Data transmission module covers the two parts of the transmission: the sensor data transmission between PC and ARM9, and the alarm message transmission. The code of the data transmission is written in Linux environment, in which the transplant of Linux, Qt interface, TCP transmission, serial port correspondence technology is involved. To use GSM module to implement short message alarm and phone alarm is the innovation of this design.

Abstract The article presents basic issues regarding the operation process and analysis of the reliability of the fire alarm and transmission system in the distributed fire alarm system. Signals of fire and fault alarms generated from the fire alarm system (SSP) send fire monitoring. Fire monitoring consists of sending, with the confirmation, an automatic fire alarm and a fault signal to the appropriate alarm receiving centers (ACO). The reliability structure of the fire and fault alarm transmission system is presented. An analysis of reliability of independent SSP system information transmission paths was performed.

This article aims to investigate the creation of space and sound in artistic and architectural fields, with particular emphasis on the notions of interval and duration in the production and experience of soundscapes. The discussion arises out of an ongoing research project concerning sonic structures in public places, in which Japanese uguisubari ([Formula: see text]) – ‘nightingale flooring’, an alarm system from the Edo period) plays a key role in developing new kinds of site-specific and location-responsive sonic architectural structures for urban and rural environments. This paper takes uguisubari as its frame for investigating and evaluating how sounds create a space (however temporary), and how that sound in turn is created through movement. It thus seeks to unpick aspects of the reciprocal and performative act in which participant and the space engage through movement, whilst creating a sonic environment that permeates, defines and composes the boundaries of this space. The article will develop a framework for these kinds of works through a discussion on walking, movement, soundscape and somatechnical aspects of our experience of the world, drawing upon the work of Merleau-Ponty, Bergson and the Japanese concept of Ma (space-time).
