Sudden cardiac death (SCD) constitutes a major clinical and public health problem, whose death burden is comparable to the current worldwide pandemic. This comprehensive review encompasses the following topics: available rescue systems, wearable electrocardiograms (ECG), detection and transmission technology, and a newly developed fuzzy logic algorithm (FA) for heart rhythm classification which is state-of-the art in the field of SCD prevention. Project “PROTECTOR”, the Polish Rapid Transtelephonic ECG to Obtain Resuscitation for development of a rapid rescue system for patients at risk of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), is presented. If a lethal arrhythmia is detected on the basis of FA, the system produces an alarm signal audible for bystanders and transmits the alarm message along with location to the emergency medical center. Phone guided resuscitation can be started immediately because an automated external defibrillator (AED) localization map is available. An automatic, very fast diagnosis is a unique feature of the PROTECTOR prototype. The rapid detection of SCA is based on a processor characterized by 100% sensitivity and 97.8% specificity (as measured in the pilot studies). An integrated circuit which implements FA has already been designed and a diagnosis is made within few seconds, which is extremely important in ischemic brain damage prophylaxis. This circuit could be implemented in smart implants (Sis).

The operation and maintenance management of telecom platforms puts more emphasis on operation and alarm monitoring and less on business flow, and it is difficult to have a seamless connection between operation and maintenance and sales. To improve the cooperative efficiency and the informatization level of telecom platform operation and maintenance, a new operation and maintenance system integrating Apriori association rules for a telecom platform is proposed. In this paper, the Apriori algorithm is firstly used to analyse the fault correlation of the operation and maintenance system of the telecommunications platform to get the alarm message. Then, the fault risk of the operation and maintenance platform is evaluated intelligently by the system-business alarm causality model. Finally, based on the fixed end and the mobile end, the dynamic presentation of the system running state and alarm monitoring, device query and positioning, and online and offline inspection are implemented and designed, respectively. Experimental results show that the proposed operation and maintenance systems integrating Apriori association rules for the telecom platform innovate the cooperative mode between the operations and sales team, and the average time reduces to 3.9 minutes from 4.7 minutes and the risk forecasting accuracy increases from 8% to 26%. The assumed method can significantly improve the operational efficiency and intelligent level of the telecom platform’s system and business.

With the acceleration of people’s life rhythm, obstructive sleep apnea syndrome appears more and more frequently. This research mainly discusses the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome with a positive pressure ventilator based on artificial intelligence processor. The information storage function of the smart positive pressure ventilator is included in the local medical terminal, presented after logging in with the user authority. It is mainly composed of data collection, data processing, and medical interface design, which embeds data request, data transmission, data analysis, and detailed tasks such as data compression and storage, and functions such as data display, image drawing, and alarm notification are realized by the medical interface. When the CPAP ventilator transmits respiratory data to the local medical terminal, it sends real-time respiratory information data packets. The data packet is collected and sent in real time in a fixed period and then received and analyzed by the local medical terminal. In the CPAP ventilator telemedicine system, the function of alarm message processing is mainly used to detect the patient’s breathing status in real time, extract the alarm-related information, and generate an alarm. This function specifically includes several tasks such as alarm detection, alarm prompt, alarm storage, and remote transmission of alarm messages. The confirmed OSAS patients were pressure-titrated with a smart CPAP ventilator and then treated for 5 hours a day, followed by echocardiography after 5 months of continuous treatment. During the study, the average BMI was (28.9 ± 7.2) kg/m2 and the average AHI index was (53.1 ± 37.8) times/h. This study may help improve the quality of life of patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.

Fall detection systems for the elderly are very important to protect this type of users. The early detection of the fall of the elderly has a major impact on saving their lives and avoiding the deterioration of the negative medical effects resulting from the effect of the patient falling on a hard surface. One of the constraints in fall detection systems are false-negative errors (no fall detection) or false-positive errors (sending a false warning without real fall accident). These errors have to be reduced significantly. In this paper, an innovative method to reduce fall detection system errors is proposed. The system consists of two orientation detection sensors to track the body orientation instead of using a single sensor in the previous systems which enhances the system accuracy and reduces the false-negative and false-positive errors. The system uses a small size IoT-based controller to process the sensor's information and make the alarm decision based on specific thresholds. The output alarm of the system includes an email sent to the caregivers via the embedded Wi-Fi ESP8266 module as well as an SMS message to the caregivers’ phones via GSM modules to ensure that the alarm message arrives in the absence of internet coverage for the patient or the caregiver. The system is powered by a small lithium-Ion battery. All sensors and modules of the system are combined in a small rubber box that can be fixed in a waist belt or the chest rejoin of the user body. Several tests have been made in different procedures. The tests revealed that the new approach improves the accuracy of the system and reduces the possibility of triggering wrong alarms.

The integrity of the navigation system is one of the important factors affecting the safety of navigation. Currently, on the inland waterways of Russia, alerts on the integrity of the GLONASS global navigation satellite system (GNSS) are transmitted through river local differential subsystems (LDSS), which include one or more reference stations. Industrial interference from industrial zones and power lines, mutual interference from neighboring reference stations and, especially, the inhomogeneity of the underlying surface affect the range of the reference stations, which leads to the integrity breach of the differential field and transmission of unreliable corrective information to the navigator. However, the navigator is not notified of the incorrect operation of the reference stations. As a result, inaccurate corrective information leads to errors in calculating the vessel position, which reduces the level of navigation safety. A method for the automatic transmission of notifications about the LDSS integrity breach from a remote control and management station (RCMS) to the ship is presented in the paper. The structure of the message transmitting the notification signal has been formed. Criteria characterizing the quality of the differential correction signal are presented. Possible combinations of such criteria, which determine the performance of the differential mode of the reference station, are identified. Each combination of criteria is juxtaposed the corresponding notification texts displayed on the monitors of the LDSS operators and on the navigator’s display. A scheme for the automatic transmission of an alarm message from a remote control point through the RCMS, the regional command and control center, the vessel traffic control center and base stations of the automatic identification system (AIS) to ship transponders has been developed. As a result, the developed method for transmitting the alarm message containing combinations of quality criteria for the differential correction signal allows to automatically inform the navigator about the reliability of the corrective information transmitted by one or another reference station.

The design of this new type of gas bottle cabinet safety protection device is to use GSM voice, short message control technology, sensor technology, wifi technology, plc control technology and so on, to monitor the gas in the gas bottle cabinet in real time. Once the gas in the cylinder leaks and the concentration of the leakage gas reaches the set alarm concentration, the alarm will occur, and the exhaust fan will start to discharge the leakage gas and send an alarm message to the pre-set mobile phone at the same time.

An intrusion detection system (IDS) works as an alarm mechanism for computer systems. It detects any malicious activity that happened to the computer system and it alerts an alarm message to notify the user there is malicious activity. There are IDS that are able to take action when malicious or anomalous networks are detected, which include suspending the traffic sent from suspicious IP addresses. The problem statement for this project is to find out the most accurate machine learning algorithm and the types of IDS with different placement strategies. When it comes to the deployment of a wireless network, IDS is not as easy a task as deploying a traditional network IDS. There are many unexpected complexities of the problem of reliable intrusion detection in a wireless network. The motivation of this research is to find the most suitable classification techniques that are able to increase the accuracy of an IDS. Machine learning is useful for the upcoming trend; it provides better accuracy in the detection of malicious traffic.
