Abstract A 1976 survey of 58 schools in the United States and Canada showed that computer-assisted instruction is widely used, most frequently in forest management, silviculture, and quantitative analysis courses. A total of 92 simulation models were identified. Recent developments are demonstrated by PLATO, a computer-based education system.

A growing body of research examines factors that influence the likelihood of solving homicide cases. Much of this research emanates from North America and is based on quantitative analysis of police data. This article explores the views of homicide detectives, complemented by observations of investigations, in both Great Britain and the United States, regarding factors that affect the chances of solving homicides. Although we find some important differences between nations, the qualitative evidence suggests that the likelihood of solving even the most challenging homicide cases in both nations can be influenced by police agency at the individual and strategic level.

This study presents a comprehensive exploratory and descriptive analysis of Canadian theatre projects on the Kickstarter platform, using both quantitative and qualitative data. In the country-level analysis, comparative statistics are provided with Kickstarter projects based in the United States. Our quantitative analysis finds that many theatre projects in Canada are successfully raising funds on Kickstarter, with the success rate being similar to that of theatre projects in the US, but on a relatively smaller scale in terms of the amount of money raised. Only Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia and Alberta, have more than three theatre projects on Kickstarter and of these, only Quebec has a proportion of Canadian theatre projects (and successful projects) on Kickstarter that are lower than its proportion of Canada’s population. In our qualitative analysis we find that theatre crowdfunding in Canada has a strong philanthropic component, and highlight limitations with Kickstarter data and the challenges of measuring success in crowdfunding more generally.

The development of this work is aimed at emphasizing the devaluation suffered by the general minimum wage in Mexico, highlighting the need for its revaluation as a response to the economic marginalization of vulnerable sectors and regions with greater lag in the country, as well as a to stop the deterioration of the wage-earners' living standards mainly, taking into account the demands of nations with respect to the new Agreement between the United States, Mexico and Canada (USMCA). However, its recovery must be planned through a gradual process that allows the progressive adaptation with respect to its economic impact. For this, a qualitative and quantitative analysis was carried out, describing its deterioration, the loss of purchasing power, proposing a restitution scheme in a period of six years to avoid affecting financially organizations and SMEs mainly.

Elections in the United States in 1968 in the shade of Vietnam — analysis of the Polish press propaganda on the example of “Trybuna Ludu”War has always been inseparably linked to politics, and polls are extremely sensitive to it and the 1968 presidential elections in the United States were not exceptions in this matter. The research looks at the Polish press propaganda regarding the fight for the most important position in the US. As the main source was used „Trybuna Ludu”, which during this period was considered the most important newspaper in the communist media system. Collected material was subjected to both qualitative analysis how press wrote about candidates, how the American political scene was divided in propaganda and what role in it played war in Asia and quantitative analysis what are dominant trends, what kind of narration predominated in propaganda.
