Characterization of the species of genus Physa on the basis of typological species concept from Central Punjab

Physids belong to Class Gastropoda; Phylum Mollusca have important position in food web and act as bio indicators, pests and intermediate host. Being resistant these are called cockroaches of malacology. Physid snails were collected from different water bodies of Faisalabad (Punjab) and were identified up to species using morphological markers. The morphometry of the specimens was carried out with the help of a digital Vernier caliper in millimeters (mm) using linear measurement of shell characters. Linear regression analysis of the AL/SW ratio vs AL and SL/SW ratio vs AL indicated that allometric growth exists only in Physa acuta when compared with P.gyrina and P. fontinalis. This study will lead to assess the status of the Physid species in Central Punjab. The Principal component analysis shows that the Component 1 (Shell Length) and component 2 (Shell Width) are the most prolific components and nearly 80 percent of the identification. The distance between P. acuta and P. fontinalis is 5.4699, P. acuta and P. gyrina is 7.6411, P. fontinalis and P. gyrina is 16.6080 showing that P. acuta resembles with P. fontinalis, and both these specimens donot resemble with P. gyrina. P.acuta is an invasive species and shows bioactivity making it a potent candidate for bioactive substances.

ELEGIES FOR THE PROPHET'S FAMILY BY CONTEMPORARY LEBANESE CHRISTIAN POETS

The study discusses elegiac poetry on the Prophet's family composed by Lebanese poets belonging to the Christian community there. We chose a selection of writings by four contemporary Christian poets: Joseph al-Hāshim, Paul Salāma, Raymond Qasīs and Joseph al-Ḥarb. The study opens with a discussion of the meaning of elegies as a human, social and individual poetic object, that has been cultivated by poets since pre-Islamic times. Next, the study discusses the reason why the Prophet's family has been the subject of so many elegies, namely the important position this family occupied among poets. Subsequently we discuss why Christian poets in Lebanon have composed numerous elegies for members of the Prophet's family, especially ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib and his son al-Ḥusayn b. ʿAlī, namely the fact that elegies constitute a unique human phenomenon that is in keeping with divine teachings, especially concerning the Prophet's family. The study uses both descriptive and analytic methods.

THE ROOTS OF TRADITIONAL ISLAM IN MODERNIST MUSLIM WORKS: K.H. Aceng Zakaria and the Intellectual Tradition of Pesantren

One of characters of modernist Islam organization in Indonesia is the opposition to traditionalist Islam practices. Initially, the modernist Islam activist also learned in the traditional Islam culture before they turned around. This study focuses on the roots of the traditional Islam among the modernist Islam organization activists, Islamic Union (Persatuan Islam/PERSIS). The study object is the historical life of the PERSIS chairman, Aceng Zakaria and his magnum opus works, al-Muyassar fî ‘Ilm al-Naḥw and al-Hidâyah fî Masâ’il Fiqh Muta‘âriḍah. Through a socio-intellectual historical approach, the study shows that the Islamic intellectual tradition of the modernist activists is inseparable from the learning of traditional pesantren. Aceng Zakaria, as a PERSIS ulama, originally learned at the traditional pesantren in the mid-twentieth century. The roots of traditional Islamic science influences his intellectual career which was reflected in his works. Both books, Arabic grammar al-Muyassar and fiqh discourse al-Hidâyah demonstrate his connectivity to the intellectual of traditional pesantren. However, Aceng Zakaria, as a modernist and reformist ulama, also modified his explanation systematically and practically. This shows that the genealogy of intellectual tradition of pesantren has an important position in supporting the development of reformist Islamic ideas in Indonesia.

EU STRATEGIC INTERESTS IN KAZAKHSTAN IN THE CONTEXT OF GEOPOLITICAL AND GEO-ECONOMIC CHANGES IN THE REGION WITH FOCUS ON CHINA

Kazakhstan has an important position as the EU´s main trading partner in Central Asia and the EU has been its largest trade partner as well as the largest source of foreign direct investment. The importance of China as trade and investment partner is rising, on the contrary, the EU’s share is declining. Even though there remains plenty of scope for further growth, mutual relations and cooperation are influenced by increased geopolitical tensions and geo-economic changes in the wider region. The paper evaluates the position of the EU and its strategic interests in Kazakhstan in the context of geopolitical and geo-economic changes in the region based on the assessment of the trade and investment position of the EU in comparison with the position of China.

The Aesthetic Education Value of Thematic Art Creation

Thematic art creation is a product of a complex social, historical, and cultural context, and it fills an important position in the development of modern and contemporary Chinese art history. Since the 21st century, with the introduction and implementation of a series of national major thematic art creation projects, thematic art creation has gradually moved from a marginal position in art history to a core area, becoming a visual narrative method with independent aesthetic value. Moving towards cultural consciousness and carrying cultural self-confidence, thematic art creation requires the guidance, standardization, and support of related art theories. The lack and absence of theoretical research restricts the development of thematic art creation. This study combs through the research results and literature materials of thematic art creation since the new century as well as studies the aesthetic education value of thematic art creation image narration.

STUDENTS' PARTICIPATION IN ONLINE LEARNING DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC IN EAST PRIANGAN

Participation in learning is used as a means to create effective learning to achieve learning success. Likewise, with online learning, participation has an important position that students must have. The form of learning participation can be realized in visual, oral, listening, writing and mental activities. The purpose of the study was to determine the level of student participation in online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research population was all students in East Priangan, and the sample selected was 85 students who live in East Priangan. The research method used was survey research with a quantitative approach and data collection techniques through distributing questionnaires to the sample consisting of 85 students and indirect interviews. The research results indicated that online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic could be an effective way to be implemented, although, in practice, there were still some technical and non-technical obstacles.Abstrak:Partisipasi dalam pembelajaran digunakan sebagai sarana untuk menciptakan pembelajaran yang efektif guna mencapai keberhasilan belajar. Begitupun dengan pembelajaran online, partisipasi memiliki posisi penting yang harus dimiliki mahasiswa. Bentuk partisipasi belajar dapat diwujudkan dalam aktivitas visual, oral, menyimak, menulis dan mental. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat partisipasi mahasiswa dalam perkuliahan online di masa pandemi Covid-19. Populasi penelitiannya adalah seluruh mahasiswa yang ada di Priangan Timur, dengan sampel yang digunakan yaitu 85 mahasiswa yang berdomisili di Priangan Timur. Adapun metode penelitiannya menggunakan penelitian survei dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan teknik pengumpulan datanya melalui penyebaran kuisioner kepada sample yang terdiri dari 85 mahasiswa dan wawancara tidak langsung. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perkuliahan online di masa pademi Covid-19 dapat dikatakan sebagai cara yang efektif untuk dilaksanakan, meskipun dalam pelaksanaannya masih ditemui adanya beberapa kendala baik teknis maupun non teknis.

Reading occupies an important position in the context of life, especially in the era of information and technology as it is today. Reading habits from an early age will enrich children's insight which leads to a higher quality human identity. The earlier a child learns to read, the more he will cultivate the habit and love of reading. Parents as the main pillar in shaping children, have an important role in growing children's interest in reading from an early age. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of parents in fostering children's reading interest and what obstacles parents faced in fostering children's reading interest. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with data collection methods through observation and interviews. The subjects of this study were 10 parents of children aged 5-6 years in Gesik hamlet, Gesikharjo village. The results of this study are the role of parents in growing children's interest in reading is first through parenting, where parenting is influenced by education and parental knowledge about the importance of growing interest in reading from an early age. Second, the role of parents in setting an example for their children. Third, parents have a role in providing literacy-related facilities. Meanwhile, the obstacles faced by parents in cultivating children's reading interest are: 1) Children are more interested in playing mobile games, 2) Children's moods are up and down towards reading activities, 3) Unsupportive environment or friends.

Greek Honey Authentication: Botanical Approach

Honey is a functional, honeybee product with a useful role in human nutrition and several health benefits. Greece is a Mediterranean region with several types of monofloral honey. Today, Greek honey has acquired an important position in national and international markets. Due to this increased industrialization and globalization, quality control is a necessity. Mislabeling constitutes one of the most notable types of fraudulence, while most consumers are looking for authentic honey. Moreover, producers and suppliers are searching for rapid and analytical methodologies to secure Greek honey in a competitive environment. In this context, we aimed to describe the classical (melissopalynological, physicochemical) and analytical (chromatographic, spectrometric, and spectroscopic) methods for the standardization of the botanical origin of Greek honey.
