SummaryAlcohol use is common in older adults and is associated with numerous health and social problems. Recent evidence suggests that in addition to level of alcohol consumption, drinking pattern may also be important. Moderate alcohol intake may confer some cardiac benefits, while heavy episodic drinking seems particularly problematic. Detecting alcohol misuse in older adults is difficult since clinical acumen is often poor, screening questionnaires have serious limitations and laboratory tests are not diagnostic. Brief alcohol interventions to reduce alcohol consumption appear useful in younger populations, but are less studied in older adults. While there is increasing research into the issue of alcohol use among older adults, clinicians and policy-makers must rely on limited evidence when making clinical decisions.

The objective of the present article was to discuss, by way of a systematic review, the contribution of knowledge management to the creation of an organizational innovation model in sports management. Regarding the ends, this work presents itself as descriptive, showing the proposed characteristics of an organizational model; and also exploratory, as it deals with a subject that still isn’t researched very much in the academic environment. As for the means, this work can be classified as bibliographic, as it uses information from the scientific articles that were found. A systematic review was conducted in the Periodical Portal, which is managed by the Higher Level Personnel Improvement Coordination -- CAPES, with research conducted between the years 2010 and 2016. In all, 2629 articles were found, of which 2069 were peer-reviewed. Duplicate articles were removed from this total, as well as articles that were published outside of the timeline that was considered (2010 - 2016). From this amount, we selected those that contained the descriptors, found in the titles of the articles and their abstracts, resulting in a total of 137 articles. Seeking to further explore the subject through the proposed objective, the articles that contained information on the sports segment were eliminated. Thus, 124 articles were excluded from the group as they were not in accordance with the inclusion criteria, leading to a total of 13 articles being included in the systematic review. To these articles, we added seven more, as they were greatly relevant and could contribute to the research. We concluded that the contribution of knowledge management is becoming a reality, meeting the new perspectives of sport in Brazil through the flow of knowledge.
