This paper concerns the design of an observer-based repetitive control system (RCS) to improve the periodic disturbance rejection performance. The periodic disturbance is estimated by a repetitive learning based estimator (RLE) and rejected by incorporation of the estimation into a repetitive control (RC) input. Firstly, the configuration of the observer-based RCS with the RLE is described. Then, a continuous–discrete two-dimensional (2D) model is built to describe the RCS. By choosing an appropriate Lyapunov functional, a sufficient condition is proposed to guarantee the stability of the RCS. Finally, a numerical example is given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract This paper concerns the problem of designing an EID-based robust output-feedback modified repetitive-control system (ROFMRCS) that provides satisfactory aperiodic-disturbance rejection performance for a class of plants with time-varying structured uncertainties. An equivalent-input-disturbance (EID) estimator is added to the ROFMRCS that estimates the influences of all types of disturbances and compensates them. A continuous-discrete two-dimensional model is built to describe the EID-based ROFMRCS that accurately presents the features of repetitive control, thereby enabling the control and learning actions to be preferentially adjusted. A robust stability condition for the closed-loop system is given in terms of a linear matrix inequality. It yields the parameters of the repetitive controller, the output-feedback controller, and the EID-estimator. Finally, a numerical example demonstrates the validity of the method.

To rely on joint active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) and repetitive control (RC), in this paper, a compound control law for active power filter (APF) current control system is proposed. According to the theory of ADRC, the uncertainties in the model and from the circumstance outside are considered as the unknown disturbance to the system. The extended state observer can evaluate the unknown disturbance. Next, RC is introduced into current loop to improve the steady characteristics. The ADRC is used to get a good dynamic performance, and RC is used to get a good static performance. A good simulation result is got through choosing and changing the parameters, and the feasibility, adaptability, and robustness of the control are testified by this result.

For optimal control of synchronous machine, chattering phenomenon will appear if traditional slider control is adopted because permanent magnet synchronous machine is a complex nonlinear time-dependent system with strong coupling of current and rotational speed to cause the deterioration of system control performance with load or load disturbance. In this article, based on the mathematical model of permanent magnet synchronous machine, a control system for it, which combines sliding mode control and active disturbance rejection control, is proposed to improve the dynamic performance and robustness of control system. In the control system, sliding mode control is adopted to control the inner current of machine and active disturbance rejection control is adopted to control the outer speed. The load disturbance of system is also estimated and offset. The results of matlab simulation show that the control system can eliminate serious chattering phenomenon existing in sliding mode control, improves the robustness of system for load and system parameter disturbance as well as has great dynamic and static performance.
