The bridge is one of the most important buildings used to overcome natural and artificial obstacles. The paper presents a constructed culvert (small bridge) on the river Jošanica, which was designed according to EN 1990 (Basics for structural design), EN 1991-1 (Structural loads) and EN 1991-2 (design of concrete structures). line model 2D (closed frame construction) calculated in the software package Tower 7. The paper approaches the modeling of structures and taking an adequate load. It would be necessary for further research to perform omission auscultations and examine the applicability of the applied methodology for modeling and calculation of the structure.

In the paper, the main structural of the bucket wheel stacker reclaimer was designed based on Virtual Prototype Technology. Firstly the bucket wheel stacker reclaimer was built by using 3D design software Solidworks. Then the static analysis of the main structure was done by using FEA method. Then the motion simulation was finished by using Adams, and the velocity curve was described. In the paper, the main structural design and motion simulation was done efficiently based on a series of Virtual Prototype Technology such as parametric modeling, FEA method and motion simulation. The superiority of virtual prototype technology in the design of large engineering equipment is obvious.

Composite materials have made way to various fields, including aerospace structures, underwater vehicles, automobiles and robot systems. Due to the high strength to weight ratio of composites, they serve as a suitable alternative to metals, therefore making the need for a reliable database of structural design more important. Most of the modern civilian and military aircraft use composite materials for their primary structural components (in addition to metals). One of the key areas in composite structural design involves the tensile strength of joints. In the present work, the lap joints fabricated from different orientations of GFRP (Glass fiber reinforced polymer) specimens are subjected to tensile test. The effect of fibre orientation on the tensile strength of lap joint is investigated both experimentally and computationally using conventional software package. The experimental results are compared with FEA using conventional software package ANSYS.

Due to the increase in the number of vehicles, transportation management is achieved through the construction of bridges. This article discusses the vibrational effect in the design of bridges. In the structural design of the bridges proper planning is necessary, as gusts may occur, leading to aeroelastic instabilities. In this article a typical bridge is designed using the design software CATIA and a numerical simulation using analysis software ANSYS. Further, the aeroelastic phenomenon involved in coupling of Fluid Structure Interaction is discussed. The results of Mode shape show vortex-induced vibrations which can lead to Flutter.

The paper work is aimed at using Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 to develop window based design software that combines flexibility with adequate users interface for the design of chain drives as an engineering transmission element. The chain drives considered are of two types; silent and roller. The calculations are programmed either through ‘known torque’ or ‘through guess pitch value’. The design software combines computational with sketch template in a single process to generate the required parameters of the chain drives. The package was tested with a number of case studies and the results obtained were quite satisfactory.
