The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is of great significance to the improvement of industrial efficiency and quality, and to reduce industrial costs and resources. However, there are few openly-reported practical project applications based on the IIoT up to now. For legacy automation devices in traditional industry, it is especially challenging to realize the upgrading of industrial automation adopting the IIoT technology with less investment. Based on the practical engineering experience, this paper introduces the automation renovation of a sewage treatment plant. The legacy automation devices are upgraded by the central controller of a STM32 processor (Produced by STMicroelectronics company, located in Geneva, Switzerland), and the WeChatApplet (Developed by Tencent company, located in Shenzhen, China) is used as the extended host computer. A set of remote monitoring and control systems of sewage treatment based on the IIoT is built to realize the wide-area monitoring and control of sewage treatment. The paper describes the field hardware system, wide-area monitoring and control application program, management cloud platform and security technologies in detail. The actual operation results show that the monitoring system has the requirements of high accuracy, good real-time performance, reliable operation and low cost.

In tertiary hospitals where the nuclear medicine services have been introduced, the radioactive materials used in diagnosis and / or treatment need to be handled. The hospital design and medical planning should consider such these materials and their policy for treatment. The nuclear wastes have been divided into solid and liquid based on the used materials and for their half-life times which start from few minutes till reaching years. In our study, the most common radioactive liquid materials (wastes) have been treated by smart system. The system will detect the material of the waste via nuclear sensors and based on its HLT (activities), it will be distributed in two shielded storage tanks classified based on capacity then to the sewage treatment plant (STP) of the hospital after keeping for required times. The location and capacity of these tanks together with their monitoring and control system should be considered in design stage which determines the treatment processes. By applying our proposed technique on two hospitals, the results have reduced the storage tank capacity by 87% (reduction) and space area leading to cost reduction by 72% keeping the maximum level of safety.

The process of designing and exploiting municipal sewage treatment plants has become much simpler and more efficient thanks to mathematical modeling. The ASM model family is able to simulate the operation of existing or designed objects in a satisfactory manner. The basic problem in Poland is the insufficient amount of data for simulations coming from plant monitoring. It is provided to create unstable model results with difficulties in calibration and validation. The aim of this article is to confirm how the amount of data and its completeness will affect the quality of the simulation performed in the ASM model. The study object is a sewage treatment plant located in Chicago in the USA. It is a sewage treatment plant operating with activated sludge technology, with regular monitoring of the quality of raw and treated wastewater. For modeling, a variant of the ASM model built into the BioWin 5.2 software was used.

In recent years, accidents of urban large scale sewage treatment plant at home and abroad have took a big loss to countries and individuals. Based on field research and scientific analysis of one large sewage treatment plant this paper use the safety check list to evaluate its safety and get that the main risk factors which should be focused on are poisoning and suffocation, electrical injuries, fire and explosion. Using accident tree method to analyze electrical equipment accidents we know that in order to prevent electric shock accident first is to use the safety equipment and control leakage events due to dirty and wet.

With Guohua Sewage Treatment Plant being the centre of management and control, by means of structural analysis and construction of cloud platform, important running data, equipment state and surveillance video of each sewage treatment site built or being built nearby will be stored and categorized. Then analysis and decisions will be made, ensuring the good functioning of sites monitored by managers of the centre control site. At the same time, mobile applications can be used on smart phones with the support of the system, thus making it possible for managers to conveniently visit surveillance data in real time through web pages or app. With this arrangement in place, effective management measures will be taken in the shortest time every time the equipment of any one site is out of order. The entire system design has achieved many functions directed at multiple sewage treatment sites, such as decentralized control, centralized management, remote diagnosis and fault early warning.

Abstract:Phosphorus is a major substance that is needed especially for agricultural production or for the industry. At the same time it is an important component of wastewater. At present, the waste management priority is recycling and this requirement is also transferred to wastewater treatment plants. Substances in wastewater can be recovered and utilized. In Europe (in Germany and Austria already legally binding), access to phosphorus-containing sewage treatment is changing. This paper dealt with the issue of phosphorus on the sewage treatment plant in Nitra. There are several industrial areas in Nitra where record major producers in phosphorus production in sewage. The new wastewater treatment plant is built as a mechanicalbiological wastewater treatment plant with simultaneous nitrification and denitrification, sludge regeneration, an anaerobic zone for biological phosphorus removal at the beginning of the process and chemical phosphorus precipitation. The sludge management is anaerobic sludge stabilization with heating and mechanical dewatering of stabilized sludge and gas management. The aim of the work was to document the phosphorus balance in all parts of the wastewater treatment plant - from the inflow of raw water to the outflow of purified water and the production of excess sludge. Balancing quantities in the wastewater treatment plant treatment processes provide information where efficient phosphorus recovery could be possible. The mean daily value of P tot is approximately 122.3 kg/day of these two sources. The mean daily value of P tot is approximately 122.3 kg/day of these two sources. There are also two outflows - drainage of cleaned water to the recipient - the river Nitra - 9.9 kg Ptot/day and Ptot content in sewage sludge - about 120.3 kg Ptot/day - total 130.2 kg Ptot/day.

Changes of microbial indices of water quality in the Vistula and Brda rivers as a result of sewage treatment plant operationThis paper reports the results of studies of microbiological changes in the water quality of the Vistula and Brda rivers after the opening of sewage treatment plants in Bydgoszcz. The study involved determining the microbiological parameters of water quality. Based on the results obtained, it was found that the quality of the water in both rivers had improved decidedly after the opening of the plants, although an increased number of individual groups of microorganisms was found at the treated sewage outlet from one of the plants.
