We present a technique for obtaining exact spherically symmetric asymptotically de Sitter (dS) or anti-de Sitter (adS) black hole solutions of dilaton gravity with generic coupling to Maxwell field, starting from asymptotically flat solutions and adding a suitable dilaton potential to the action.

As a preliminary towards a complete integration of the Newman-Penrose equations governing the gravitational perturbations of the Kerr black hole, the perturbations in the spin coefficients and in the components of the Weyl tensor, which vanish in the stationary state, are considered. The manner of treatment of the basic equations yields Teukolsky’s equations expressed directly in terms of the basic derivative operators of the theory and, further, suggests a preferred gauge in which two of the components of the Weyl tensor are governed by the same equations as a Maxwell field. Various identities and relations that are needed in subsequent work are assembled. In two appendixes, the solution of Maxwell’s equations in Kerr geometry and the perturbations of the charged Kerr-Newman black hole are considered.

Abstract We propose a way to observe the photon ring of the asymptotically anti-de Sitter black hole dual to a superconductor on the two-dimensional sphere. We consider the electric current of the superconductor under the localized time-periodic external electromagnetic field. On the gravity side, the bulk Maxwell field is sent from the AdS boundary and then diffracted by the black hole. We construct the image of the black hole from the asymptotic data of the bulk Maxwell field that corresponds to the electric current on the field theory side. We decompose the electric current into the dissipative and non-dissipative parts and take the dissipative part for the imaging of the black hole. We investigate the effect of the charged scalar condensate on the image. We obtain the bulk images that indicate the discontinuous change of the size of the photon ring.

We study a class of topological black hole solutions in RSII braneworld scenario in the presence of a localized Maxwell field on the brane. Such a black hole can carry two types of charge, one arising from the extra dimension, the tidal charge, and the other from a localized gauge field confined to the brane. We find that the localized charge on the brane modifies the bulk geometry and in particular the bulk Weyl tensor. The bulk geometry does not depend on different topologies of the horizons. We present the temperature and entropy expressions associated with the event horizon of the braneworld black hole and by using the first law of black hole thermodynamics we calculate the mass of the black hole.
