A pesar del relativamente escaso uso de técnicas de análisis textual y de análisis del sentimiento en finanzas y contabilidad, éstas tienen un gran potencial en contabilidad, tanto por el elevado volumen de documentos utilizados para la comunicación de información financiera como por el crecimiento en el uso de herramientas digitales y medios de comunicación social. En este sentido, estas técnicas de análisis pueden ayudar a los investigadores a analizar pistas ocultas o buscar información adicional a la observada a través de los estados financieros, incrementando la cantidad y calidad de la información tradicionalmente utilizada, y proporcionando una nueva perspectiva de análisis. Por ello, el objetivo de este estudio es realizar una revisión del uso del análisis textual y del análisis del sentimiento en contabilidad. Tras presentar los conceptos de análisis textual y análisis del sentimiento y justificar teóricamente su papel en la investigación en contabilidad, llevamos a cabo una revisión de la literatura previa en el uso de estas técnicas en finanzas y contabilidad y describimos las principales técnicas de análisis del sentimiento, así como el procedimiento a seguir para el uso de esta metodología. Finalmente, sugerimos tres líneas de investigación futura que pueden beneficiarse del uso del análisis textual y del análisis del sentimiento. In spite of the relatively scarce use of textual analysis and sentiment analysis techniques in finance and accounting, they have great potential in accounting, both because of the volume of documents used for the communication of information and due to the growth in the use of digital tools and social media. In that regard, these techniques of analysis may help researchers to analyse hidden clues or look for additional information to that one observed through financial information, increasing the quantity and quality of the information traditionally used, and providing a new perspective of analysis. The aim of this study is to review the use of textual analysis and sentiment analysis in accounting. After presenting the concepts of textual analysis and sentiment analysis and expose their interest in accounting, we perform a review of the previous literature on the use of these techniques in finance and accounting and describe the main techniques of sentiment analysis, as well as the procedure to be followed for the use of this methodology. Finally, we suggest three lines of future research that may benefit from the use of textual and sentiment analysis.

The research literature on sentiment analysis methodologies has exponentially grown in recent years. In any research area, where new concepts and techniques are constantly introduced, it is, therefore, of interest to analyze the latest trends in this literature. In particular, we have chosen to primarily focus on the literature of the last five years, on annotation methodologies, including frequently used datasets and from which they were obtained. Based on the survey, it appears that researchers do more manual annotation in the formation of sentiment corpus. As for the dataset, there are still many uses of English language taken from social media such as Twitter. In this area of research, there are still many that need to be explored, such as the use of semi-automatic annotation method that is still very rarely used by researchers. Also, less popular languages, such as Malay, Korean, Japanese, and so on, still require corpus for sentiment analysis research.

In this work, we focus on the application of text mining and sentiment analysis techniques for analyzing Tunisian users' statuses updates on Facebook. We aim to extract useful information, about their sentiment and behavior, especially during the “Arabic spring” era. To achieve this task, we describe a method for sentiment analysis using Support Vector Machine and Naïve Bayes algorithms, and applying a combination of more than two features. The output of this work consists, on one hand, on the construction of a sentiment lexicon based on the Emoticons and Acronyms' lexicons that we developed based on the extracted statuses updates; and on the other hand, it consists on the realization of detailed comparative experiments between the above algorithms by creating a training model for sentiment classification.

Sentiment analysis is an analytical approach that is used for text analysis. The aim of sentiment analysis is to determine the opinion and subjectivity of any opinion, review, or tweet. The aim of this chapter is to study and compare some of the techniques used to classify opinions using sentiment analysis. In this chapter, different techniques of sentiment analysis have been discussed with the case study of demonetization in India during 2016. Based on the sentiment analysis, people's opinion can be classified on different polarities such as positive, negative, or neutral. These techniques will be classified on different categories based on size of data, document type, and availability. In addition, this chapter also discusses various applications of sentiment analysis techniques in different domains.

People regularly use social media to express their opinions about a wide variety of topics, goods, and services which make it rich in text mining and sentiment analysis. Sentiment analysis is a form of text analysis determining polarity (positive, negative, or neutral) in text, document, paragraph, or clause. This chapter offers an overview of the subject by examining the proposed algorithms for sentiment analysis on Twitter and briefly explaining them. In addition, the authors also address fields related to monitoring sentiments over time, regional view of views, neutral tweet analysis, sarcasm detection, and various other tasks in this area that have drawn the researchers ' attention to this subject nearby. Within this chapter, all the services used are briefly summarized. The key contribution of this survey is the taxonomy based on the methods suggested and the debate on the theme's recent research developments and related fields.
