ABSTRACTThe availability of large amounts of Buckminsterfullerene has allowed a plethora of experimental investigations on fullerenes. The chemical and physical studies have focussed on synthesis, isomerism, magnetism, spectroscopy and high temperature superconductivity in doped materials. The chemical reactivities of fullerenes have been defined and most of the studies are dominated by C60 isomers. Some of the observed activities of fullerenes parlled those of alkeies. In our previous studies, the reactivity of the 6-6' bond with respect to eco- addition was described. Current studies have exploited the olefinic nature of the 6-6' bond and analyzed the effect of the addition on cluster stability and frontier character. In this work, we describe the mechanisms of simple substitution and analyze stability and orbital effects for the addition chemistry of C60 with multiple species. Evolving changes in orbital frontier character are analyzed with respect to site directed chemistry exhibited by C60.

On the basis of previously developed rheodynamic models of high-temperature SHS‑compaction, a theoretical analysis of the process of backward pressing with the active action of external friction force was carried out. It is shown that in this version of extrusion external friction is a useful technological effect, which allows to obtain a uniform distribution of density over the volume of the pressing material. Analytical relationships have been obtained for calculating the characteristic pressing time and stress distribution.

Flexural-torsional buckling of steel beams in high temperature is studied by adopting the method of theoretical analysis. The flexural-torsional buckling critical moment equations of steel beams under concentrated transverse loads are driven in high temperature ranging from 20°C to 300°C. In order to verify the validity of the theoretical analysis equations, a steel beam model under concentrated transverse load is designed. The flexural-torsional buckling critical moments and critical stresses are calculated under different temperature conditions. The influence of load point on flexural-torsional buckling critical moment and critical stress are obtained. The variation tendency of flexural-torsional buckling critical moment and critical stress against temperature are also presented.
