The existing literature has acknowledged the complicated links among external business environments, corporate governance and organisational performance. However, a large void exists in the extant research models of corporate governance, because none have discussed and empirically examined the intervenient effect of the corporate governance mechanism on the external business environments and organisational performance. A thorough review of the literature on corporate governance, external business environments and organisational performance comes to the proposed hypotheses. The indirect effect of external business environments on organisational performance via corporate governance is statistically tested. The research provides empirical evidence that organisational performance is the consequence of both corporate governance and external business environments that is, in turn, the causality of corporate governance. More importantly, it offers insight into the mediating effect of corporate governance in transforming the uncertainty of external business environments into organisational performance. The findings suggest that firms facing uncertainty in external business environments should adopt suitable corporate governance to achieve the best organisational performance.

This research aimed to analyze family firm governance, earning quality, andfirm performance of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia StockExchange. This study also investigated the mediating effect of earning qualityon the effect of family governance toward firm performance. Earning quality is measured by earning persistence, earning predictability, earning smoothness, and accrual quality. Firm’s performance is measured by market performancein Tobin-q and operational performance in return on asset. This research usedpooled data in which earning persistence and earning predictability need 11 until 16 years observations, earning smoothness needs 2 until 7- year-observations, and accrual quality needs 12 years observations. The hypotheses testing used pathanalysis. To find empirical evidence, the main hypothesis testing was done bytesting 16 sub-hypotheses. The mediating role of earnings quality was proved bythe measurement of earnings persistence, earnings predictability, and quality ofaccruals. The role of earning quality on the effect of family governance toward firm  performance is confirmed. The results show, as much as 6 sub - hypothesessupport the main hypothesis. This study finds  the empirical evidence of the roleof earning quality  on the effecf of family governance  reflected  in the involvementof family in board of commisioner toward firm performance (Tobin-q, ROA).Keywords - Business management, family firm, firm performance, family governance, earning quality, descriptive design, Indonesia

Postnatal and antenatal depression present significant public health concerns. Current opinion on the use of these terms is noted. Previous research findings demonstrate that detrimental effects of untreated maternal depression/anxiety are potentially severe and impact on the whole family; longer-term effects on child development are described. Australia has responded to such overwhelming empirical evidence by the implementation of the National Perinatal Depression Initiative. Key objectives and a brief overview of the work in progress of this Initiative are offered.

Energy poverty has negative impacts on the residents' life from various aspects. A comprehensive understanding of these impacts is the top priority in energy poverty governance. Previous qualitative studies have shown that energy poverty has the potential to negatively impact the individual development of residents through multiple pathways. However, few scholars have explored this issue from a quantitative perspective. To fill the gaps in existing research, this study aims to examine the impact of energy poverty on individual development and explore the serial mediating effects of learning behavior and health condition in the relationship. A total of 2289 valid samples are obtained from the dataset of Chinese General Social Survey (CGSS). SPSS 26.0 and PROCESS 3.5 are used to conduct serial mediating effects analysis. The results show that energy poverty can significantly negatively impact the individual development of residents. Learning behavior and health condition are found to independently or serially mediate the relationship between energy poverty and individual development. Health condition has the stronger mediating effect, whereas the mediating effect of learning behavior is weaker. This study may contribute to a better understanding of the consequences of energy poverty in government and academia.

Purpose - The purpose of this article is to analyze the impact of knowledge sharing on the relationship between organizational culture and job satisfaction of ICT industry in Hong Kong so that appropriate strategies can be put in place by relevant decision-makers to enhance corporate performance. Design/Methodology/Approach - The research includes items of culture dimension, knowledge sharing dimension, job satisfaction dimension and demographic information. Data collected from 228 valid respondents by an internet-based self-administrative anonymous questionnaire survey were analyzed by factor analysis and multiple regressions; validity, reliability and the mediating effect of knowledge sharing were also tested. Findings - Research findings revealed that organizational culture significantly influences knowledge sharing and job satisfaction and that knowledge sharing plays an important mediating role between organizational culture and job satisfaction. Practical Implications - The insightful results provide empirical evidence as potential guidance to employers of ICT industries and management to establish appropriate strategies to retain valuable staff and improve the efficiency of their human resources including incentive and reward policies. Originality/Value - This research studied the relationships between organizational culture, knowledge sharing and job satisfaction in Hong Kong context since most of the previous studies has focused on western countries. It is unique in that it investigated the mediating effects of knowledge sharing on job satisfaction of ICT practitioners in Hong Kong.
