Marxists argue that the history of human civilization is based on economic interests or basic structure. The International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) in Indonesia is part of historical materialism, conceived in the form of ideas and concepts by the organic intellectuals of the respective social organization, economy, and international politics. This study explores the interest of the global society toward the IFRS implementation. This is done to promote the spirit of liberalism, which must be as more profitable for the capitalist class. The bankers and accounting associations were interviewed. It was found that IFRS is the political and economic interest of the global society for making the banking practice in Indonesia. It was also found that the creation of capitalism hegemony is formed through the consensus of the interests of capitalist society.

The descriptive-correlational research employed the published Personal Entrepreneurial Competence (PECs) Self-Rating Questionnaire (in SERDEF, 2007) and Linan and Chen (2009) behavioral-intention-oriented scale. The result showed that the graduating students had “good or strong” entrepreneurial competence with goal setting, information seeking, and persistence as the prevailing competencies. They had “above average” entrepreneurial intentions with the exception of non-business related course and those with no entrepreneurial experience. The Philippine Native Pig maintains its niche in the demand for a Filipino delicacy called "Lechon" because of taste and crunchiness. However, commercializing native pigs is constrained by the high cost of feeds. So, these studies were conducted to determine the economic potential of raising native pigs on Trichanthera diets. Results showed that native pigs can be grown with better feed efficiency and lower the feed cost per kilogram weight gain using Trichanthera to replace up to 30% of the commercial rations (Study1). With formulated rations in gabi diets, Trichanthera can be used up to 45% of the diets for economical weight gains (Study 2). Feeding Trichanthera in gabi-corn diets (Study 3) did not significantly affect weight gains up to 45% level in the diets. The feed efficiency was improved and reduced the feed cost per kilogram weight gain up to 30% Trichanthera in the diets. The potential profit based on weight gains less feed cost is consistently increasing (15%, 30%, and 49%) with the increasing level of Trichanthera in the diets. Therefore, raising native pigs on Trichanthera diets is potentially viable both bio-physically and economically.   Keywords - Animal Nutrition, Philippine native pigs, Trichanthera gigantea, forage, local feedstuffs, non-conventional feedstuffs, economic viability, feeding trial, experimental design, Tanay, Rizal, Philippines

Organization development interventions are very important and common in franchised companies. This is an experimental study to assess the effectiveness of organization development (OD) interventions on an international franchised company in Cebu. The aim is  to determine the attainment of the goals and objectives of the five franchise outlets of a particular chain of pizza restaurants in Cebu in terms of food, service and environment, through the theoretical framework of this study based on Schein’s (2010) strategic planning model. The pre and post-intervention instrument used is a researcher made survey instrument that was constructed based on the Operations Manual of the pizza franchise. Fifteen supervisors and staff of the pizza franchise were asked to rate themselves, on how well they did in thirteen categories.  The results served as the bases for conducting a strategic planning workshop. Pre and post intervention means were compared using paired t-test at 0.05 level of significance. The data from pre-intervention assessment and post intervention evaluation were treated via statistics using the means. The paired t-test was used for comparison of pre and post intervention data for improvements significant at 0.05 levels. Noticeable improvements were shown. It is suggested that further intervention activities be conducted to solidify the strengths of the intervention efforts. Non-government organizations (NGOs) have played a pivotal role in community development and nation building in the Philippines. However, there is a paucity of literature on the leadership behaviors of NGO leaders and how these influence performances of NGOs in the country. This study aimed to determine leadership behavior of selected NGO directors in Iligan and Cagayan de Oro City in Northern Mindanao Philippines. The Leader Behavior Description Questionnaire, a previously validated questionnaire, was used in this study. Approval from four selected NGOs in Northern Mindanao was sought prior to the collection of data. These NGOs were selected based on their common goal of achieving the Millennium Development Agenda. Informed consent was obtained from 100 participants of these NGOs. Data from the questionnaire was analyzed using descriptive statistics. Findings showed that the most common leadership behavior was Considerate, Facilitative, Autocratic and Participative Leadership behaviors. Findings suggest that NGO leaders in Northern Mindanao tend to involve members during decision-making and place a high value on the contributions of the members. Findings could form baseline data on leadership behaviors of NGO leaders in Northern Mindanao. It is recommended that associations between leadership behavior and performances of the NGOs should be investigated in future studies. Keywords - Management, leadership behavior, non-government organizations, descriptive-survey, Northern Mindanao, Philippines
