This paper focuses on the study of automated process discovery using the Inductive visual Miner (IvM) and Directly Follows visual Miner (DFvM) algorithms to produce a valid process model for educational process mining in order to understand and predict the learning behavior of students. These models were evaluated on the publicly available xAPI (Experience API or Experience Application Programming Interface) dataset, which is an education dataset intended for tracking students’ classroom activities, participation in online communities, and performance. Experimental results with several performance measures show the effectiveness of the developed process models in helping experts to better understand students’ learning behavioral patterns.

Given the significance of cultivating students’ autonomous learning ability, there is a need to develop an instructional model that can improve students’ awareness and behavior of autonomous learning, as well as to explore the effectiveness and optimization of this model effectively. Taking college English course as a case study, this paper constructs a blended learning mode based on SPOC, which combines advantages of online and offline teaching. 15 types of nonredundant sets resulting from 500 questionnaires has been explored, and the optimal factor combinations have been found out from 15 types with the technology of data mining to optimize the mode constructed previously. Optimized blended learning mode, emphasizing the optimal factors more, has been applied to College English curriculum design and teaching practice in China. Surveys of students’ achievement and autonomous learning behavior have been conducted after experiment. The results of the research indicate that the optimized blended learning mode will stimulate foreign language learners’ learning motivation, cultivate their autonomous learning ability, so as to construct and improve their autonomous learning behavior further.

This paper aims to analyze the learning behavior of Thai learners by using a computer-based learning system for English writing. Three main objectives were set: the development of a computer-based learning system, automatic behavior data collection, and learning behavior analytics. Firstly, the system is developed under a multidisciplinary idea that is designed to integrate two concepts between the self-regulated learning model and components of natural language processing. The integration design encourages self-learning in the digital learning environment and supports appropriate English writing by the provided component selection. Second, the system automatically collects the writing behavior of a group of Thai learners. The data collected are necessary input for the process of learning analytics. Third, the writing behaviors data were analyzed to find the learning behavioral patterns of the learners. For learning analytics, behavior sequential analysis was used to analyze the learning logs from the system. The 31 undergraduate students are participated to record writing behaviors via the system. The learning patterns in relation to grammatical skills were compared between three groups: basic, intermediate, and advanced levels. The learning behavior patterns of the three groups are different that use for reflecting learners and improving the learning materials or curriculum.

AbstractThis research aims to examine the learning behavior of the fifth-grade students at SDN 92 Kendari and the teachers' efforts to improve their learning behavior. This study used a qualitative descriptive method. The procedure of collecting data was through interviews, observations, and documentation. Then, the data were analyzed employing data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The triangulation techniques and sources were used to check the validity of the data. The results indicated that students' learning behavior was very diverse. Several students showed good behavior in class, such as listening to the teacher enthusiastically, being disciplined in doing the assigned tasks, being disciplined about time, and not disturbing friends while studying. However, some students behaved poorly, such as frequently going in and out of the room, ignoring the teachers' instructions, and violating class rules. Efforts made by the teachers to improve the learning behavior of the fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 92 Kendari were doing variations in learning, actively advising students, and giving punishment to students in the form of additional assignments.

Group work can inspire students, encourage constructive learning, and improve essential critical thinking, communication, and decision-making in the present competitive world. The risk factors in group learning include students who prefer working alone and strongly despise dealing with things created by gathering in teams. Online learners often have problems locating lasting peace times for group therapy sessions are considered an essential factor. A predictive Group Learning Behavior Approach (PGLBA) has been proposed. Students who commute to college agree to group conferences and workgroup learning and Inquiry learning for higher education. The grounded Inquiry Learning Approach is invented to strengthen students’ enjoyment of active group learning, and the students find times for group meetings that are often mutually advantageous. The simulation analysis is performed based on performance, accuracy, and efficiency proves the proposed framework’s reliability. The experimental results show that the proposed PGLBA-IL model enhances the accuracy ratio of 81.2%, an efficiency ratio of the number of students 86.4%, and the overall performance analysis ratio of 85.1% compared to others existing approaches.
