The roof structure of Olympic Stadium in Rome had been conceived, studied and realized between the end of 1988 and the April 1990, in total 16 months of work. This roof is the first example of spoke wheel roof structural system, that today is widely applied on many actual Stadiums around the world [1]. Wind tunnel tests on the roof structure have been carried out at the BLWT Lab. of Western Ontario University: at that time, there have been many discussions between the designer and wind tunnel researchers about the integration of wind tunnel tests data into the design process for sub-horizontal wide span roofs.
The conceptual design and the method of wind dynamic analysis has been updated for the Yaoundé roof Stadium, now under construction. The aerodynamic behavior of Yaoundé stadium roof has been tested in London RWDI wind tunnel. Innovative and recently proposed numerical techniques have been adopted to perform dynamic analyses under wind action.
Erection sequences prescribed for roofs of these two Stadiums are both remarkable and advanced: the big lift adopted procedure for the Olympic stadium roof in Rome and the new tie down pre tensioning operation, provided for the Yaoundé stadium cable roof.

Based on fractal theory, used the index of rockfill compaction characteristics(granularity fractal dimension) which conforms to Talbot curve distribution, combined with blasting schemes and rolling test data of several domestic rockfill dams, the relationship is established between compacted rockfill’s dry density and rock blasting parameters by rockfill granularity fractal dimension and its average diameter, and that provided the basis for rockfill particle grading optimization method. The method is applied by rockfill of JIANGPINGHE dam under construction, and the results show that this method can well reflect the intrinsic relation between rock blasting and rockfill compaction, which can be applied to particle grading design of rockfill dam.

The organization of territory and cities is a structuring element for the management of epidemic crises. The existence of basic sanitary structures is, nowadays, an acquired and determined factor for the healthiness of territories, as well as for the structural contribution to the well-being of the populations. Since the 19th century epidemic crises established health parameters for Architecture and Urbanism, which are still a reference today. Almost after one hundred years, where the questions of salubrity were supposed to be consolidated, we find that, suddenly, without advice, new alarm bells rings: we found that the world was not prepared to be closed in its “housing units”. Assuming Portimão as an urban laboratory and as a waterfront city, we will present the process developed for studies, searching for proposals witch solutions look for a contemporary assignment, which imposes to Architecture a principle settled on options of sustainability, impermanence, reuse and recycling.

The rio Machado is an large tributary of the rio Madeira, and investigations of the ichthyofauna are urgent given the current high threat of habitat loss on account of a hydroelectric plant under construction. Our inventory quantified 9,544 specimens, representing four orders and 38 species. Our study provides an unprecedented list of fish species from a poorly studied South American basin. This basin, which is considered one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots, presents high endemism, few cases of co-existence of phylogenetically related lineages, low species diversity, and few species occurrences with wide distribution.

According to the information available in the USSR, now in the world there are more than 13000 reservoirs with storage capacity over 1 million m? in service and under construction. The largest ones are illustrated in Table 1. In some countries these storage reservoirs constitute rather a great per cent relative to all the reservoirs of the given country. (Table 2). Lately, such reservoirs have substantially grown in number in many countries of the world, especially in the USSR and USA, what is seen from the chart (Fig.1). In this connection, one can conclude on the great area of some reservoirs (reaching sometimes thousands of square kilometers), on their importance in the balance of the controlled runoff, making up in some countries over 95 per cent and on the intensive increase of their storage capacity beginning from the fifties of the present century. The above said is one of the reasons of greater interest in the action of waves and currents of the shore line showing up most intensively on the largest storage reservoirs. The length of the shore line of the USSR reservoirs is over 40000 km. The length of the erosion shores of storage reservoirs at the hydroelectric projects on the Volga and Dnieper River make up more than 30 per cent of the total shoreline of these reservoirs, while that of the reservoirs on the Kama River - 35 per cent. Most intensively the erosion is going on in the first decades of the operation of the reservoirs. The action of waves on the shore results in formation of the underwater slope with a gradient at which the wave energy is dissipated on the shoal, and the shore erosion slows gradually down until it ceases completely. However, it is rather difficult now to determine the period of the shore formation attenuation process in view of the fact that the problem of distribution of wave energy between all the phenomena taking place here is not properly studied yet and it is hot also clear what width and gradient of the shoal can fully baffle the wave energy and how much time it will take for such a shoal to get formed. The observation carried out on the natural water bodies well prove it.

Among the existing experiences, the Companies B movement stands out, which meets an increasingly demanding and conscious consumer and investor demand when correlating the environmental issue and the impact on consumption, under the slogan “not being the best company in the world, but the best for the world”. The purpose of the research is to identify different ways in which a B-Corp can benefit the environment and the local community. For this, a methodology with a qualitative and exploratory approach was used, in which the bibliographic survey, the documentary research and the structured interview about the experience of the Hotel Evergreen Lodge Yosemite were used as technical procedures. Companies B constitute a pragmatic movement of paradigmatic transience between economies that on the one hand have a rationality of short-term economic gains, however with long-term socio-environmental losses, and on the other hand, a new economy, which reconciles ecosystem-economic gains, under construction, in the sense that the experiments are ongoing. Examples of how it is possible to conduct the management of a company in an economically responsible manner, defending principles of social and environmental ethics in relation to local development, understood as community, and its overlap with other spaces. Keywords: Ecodevelopment. Ecosocioeconomy. B-Corp.
