This paper describes the development of the Legendre Oil fields from a project management perspective, and reflects on the contracting strategies and management style adopted in order to make a relatively small field of 44 MMbbl (6.998MkL) economically viable.The fields are due to come on stream in mid 2001, utilising a converted jack-up production facility and FSO tanker.The contracting of the main production facility and FSO under ‘service agreements’ means that contactors are fully responsible for the conversion, maintenance and operation of the facilities. Nevertheless, Woodside as Operator retains responsibility for operations under the prevailing legislation.The ‘service agreements’ were developed through building on Apache’s experience in the Stag Project. They enable strong alignment in the objectives of both the Joint Venture Partners (JVP) and contractors, but require vision and more attention to detail in comparison to conventional contracting strategies since the Agreement must cater for the full field life and potentially beyond. This paper discusses the learning gathered and the successes achieved in meeting the project objectives and sharing risk.Additionally, the experiences in developing trust and confidence in the ability of a third party to commission and operate production facilities on Woodside’s behalf are examined.In presenting the paper, we will give an up to date and topical summary of the project.

Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM) yang berada di Desa Koto rendah, Kecamatan Siulak, Kabupaten Kerinci adalah bentuk Kelompok Usaha Bersama (KUBE) dari ibu-ibu rumah tangga yang mempunyai usaha bisnis dalam kuliner, pembibitan, pengolahan hasil pertanian dan perkebunan sekitar yang mereka miliki maupun penduduk setempat. Kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mengenai kemampuan untuk melakukan perencanaan bisnis (Business Plan). Selain itu, untuk memberikan peningkatan keterampilan dalam merencanakan bisnis menggunakan bisnis model. Metode yang akan digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut adalah dengan pelatihan dan pendampingan membuat rencana bisnis dalam lembar kerja bisnis model canvas.Kata Kunci : UMKM, KUBE Business PlanABSTRACTSmall and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) located in Koto low Village, Siulak Sub-District, Kerinci Regency is a form of Joint Venture Group (KUBE) of housewives who have business ventures in culinary, nursery, processing of agricultural products and plantations. This devotional activity is to improve knowledge and skills regarding the ability to making a Business Plan. In addition, to provide improved skills in businesses plan using business models. The effect of cultural distance (CD) on the entry mode choice (EMC) has been intensively studied but the empirical results are mixed. This study adopts the strategic fit perspective to examine how firms’ strategic motives and technological ownerships may influence the EMC in face of different cultural distances. Analyzing Taiwanese outward FDI cases from 2004 to 2007, this study found that firms entering the culture-distant countries would choose the wholly-owned subsidiary (WOS) mode when emphasizing more about the protection of technological competence than market expansion, or else would choose the joint-venture (JV) mode when the market expansion is prioritized.
