Multifunctional Ag@NaGdF4:Yb3+, Er3+ core-shell nanocomposites for dual-mode imaging and photothermal therapy

A simple method was developed by using core–shell UCNPs as seeds and heterogeneously growing VS2 nanoshell directly on the surface. The final nanostructures with uniform and small sizes afford dual-mode imaging and photothermal therapy in vitro.
