Within a pulp industry production process, a drop in the performance of a wood log rotary debarker was identified. Such loss of performance was due to the occurrence of excessive wear of the device's cutting blades, requiring their regular and premature replacement. The material used to manufacture the cutting blades, Hardox 500, has characteristics considered adequate for the required use. However, it was concluded that the blade manufacturing process degraded its mechanical properties, leading to its premature wear when placed in service. The present study intends to propose, characterize, and validate an alternative cutting process to manufacture the debarker's cutting blades. Abrasive waterjet cutting technology was proposed to produce the cutting blades. The suitability of this manufacturing process is discussed considering the specified geometry and the material characteristics of the resulting cutting blades.

Bush is one of machine and automobile parts like brake used in drums and hubs in particular. Such bush parts are used for bearings of heavy-duty, large cars requiring wear resistance and high load carrying capacity. High temperature diffusion bonding has been applied for holding the both materials of the bushing together, which are outer steel materials and inner composite-sintered bushings. Therefore, it is very important evaluate the bonding integrity in manufacturing process. A simulation has been performed in order to evaluate the maximum defect sizes. Also, ultrasonic C-scan tests were performed for finding the defect in the composite-sintered bushings with the size of inherent flaws.

With the rapid development of road transport enterprise and the popularity of car trailer transport, semi-trailer has become the main means of transport of road freight. So the semi-trailer manufacturing has become an important component part of the auto industry. Speed and heavy duty are the long-term pursuit of the High-speed transport, the key to solving this problem is a component of lightweight, while the hollow axle is the important one. The hollow axle manufacturing process, with many process factors, is more complex than the solid one. Therefor, the research on the hollow axle manufacturing process is very necessary.

The microelectronics industry is heavily tasked with minimizing contaminates at all steps of the manufacturing process. Particles are generated by physical and/or chemical fragmentation from a mothersource. The tools and macrovolumes of chemicals used for processing, the environment surrounding the process, and the circuits themselves are all potential particle sources. A first step in eliminating these contaminants is to identify their source. Elemental analysis of the particles often proves useful toward this goal, and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) is a commonly used technique. However, the large variety of source materials and process induced changes in the particles often make it difficult to discern if the particles are from a common source.Ordination is commonly used in ecology to understand community relationships. This technique usespair-wise measures of similarity. Separation of the data set is based on discrimination functions. Theend product is a spatial representation of the data with the distance between points equaling the degree of dissimilarity.

SummaryThe introduction of low molecular weight heparins has added a new dimension to the pharmacological management of thrombotic disorders. Because of different chemical and pharmacological characteristics, due to the manufacturing process, each LMWH should be considered as a distinct entitity and only be used for its given indication. A list of commercially available LMWHs is included. The mechanism of action of the LMWHs and their use in various disorders are discussed. Available laboratory tests for monitoring LMWHs are presented and their limitations pointed out.
