The reaction of GeCl2·dioxane with KFeCp(CO)2 leads to polyhedral cluster compounds with six germanium atoms like Ge6[FeCp(CO)2]6 or Ge6Cl2[FeCp(CO)2]6via a complex reaction route.

A series of bicyclic alkylamino carbenes (BICAAC) (where N-aryl = dipp, mes, 2,6-dimethyl-4-(dimethylamino)phenyl, 5a-d) and their novel air- and moisture-resistant pyridine (pyridine, 4 dimethylaminopyridine) containing palladium PEPPSI-type Pd(II) complexes (6a-e) were synthetized and characterized. The new palladium complexes have shown high activity in Mizoroki–Heck coupling reaction even at as low as 100 ppm loading (TON up to 10000). Kinetic studies revealed that reactions carried out in the presence of elemental mercury resulted in decrease in activity. It indicates that the coupling reaction may have both molecular and Pd(0)-mediated catalytic paths.

Two new π-conjugated polymers (Poly[(N-10’-(octan-3-yl)-phenothiazin-3,7-ylene)-alt- (4’,7’-bis(thiophen-2-yl)benzo[c][1,2,5]thiadiazole)] (PoPTZ-BT-BTD), Poly[(N-10`-(octan-3-yl) -phenothiazin-3,7-ylene)-alt-(4’,7’-bis(thiophen-2-yl)-5,6-bis(octyloxy)benzo[c][1,2,5]thiadiazole)] (PoPTZ-BT-BoBTD) ) were synthesized through the Suzuki coupling reaction for organic photovoltaics (OPVs), and their optical and electrochemical properties were analyzed. Their wavelength of maximun absorption was 526 nm and 506 nm in solution state, repectively, and 560 nm and 522 nm in film state, respectively. Their band-gap energy was 2.01 eV and 2.09 eV in solution state, and 1.82 eV and 1.91 eV in film state, respectively. The results of analysis of the chrateristics of photovoltaics, 0.79 % and 0.99 % of the maximum power conversion efficiencies (PCE), repectively.

Two novel polyurethanes (PU) with alternating and random block architectures, hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB)/polyethylene glycol (PEG) block copolymers, HTPB-alt-PEG and HTPB-co-PEG, were synthesized via a coupling reaction route between hydroxyl groups and isocyanate groups. The structural and crystal characterization was conducted by means of FTIR, and phase behavior was examined by SEM and DSC. The biodegradation in a simulated human body fluid was investigated through mass loss and SEM. The experimental results indicate that all polyurethane samples form the microphase separation structure, and the separation degree depended on their sequence structure and the molecular weight (MW) of PEG, and further affecte their in-vitro degradation.
