Abstract We define a motivic conductor for any presheaf with transfers F using the categorical framework developed for the theory of motives with modulus by Kahn, Miyazaki, Saito and Yamazaki. If F is a reciprocity sheaf, this conductor yields an increasing and exhaustive filtration on $F(L)$ , where L is any henselian discrete valuation field of geometric type over the perfect ground field. We show that if F is a smooth group scheme, then the motivic conductor extends the Rosenlicht–Serre conductor; if F assigns to X the group of finite characters on the abelianised étale fundamental group of X, then the motivic conductor agrees with the Artin conductor defined by Kato and Matsuda; and if F assigns to X the group of integrable rank $1$ connections (in characteristic $0$ ), then it agrees with the irregularity. We also show that this machinery gives rise to a conductor for torsors under finite flat group schemes over the base field, which we believe to be new. We introduce a general notion of conductors on presheaves with transfers and show that on a reciprocity sheaf, the motivic conductor is minimal and any conductor which is defined only for henselian discrete valuation fields of geometric type with perfect residue field can be uniquely extended to all such fields without any restriction on the residue field. For example, the Kato–Matsuda Artin conductor is characterised as the canonical extension of the classical Artin conductor defined in the case of a perfect residue field.

AbstractLet K be a complete discrete valuation field of mixed characteristic (0,p), with possibly imperfect residue field. We prove a Hasse–Arf theorem for the arithmetic ramification filtrations on GK, except possibly in the absolutely unramified and non-logarithmic case, or the p=2 and logarithmic case. As an application, we obtain a Hasse–Arf theorem for filtrations on finite flat group schemes over 𝒪K.

AbstractLet be a finite group scheme over an algebraically closed field k of characteristic char(k) = p ≥ 3. In generalisation of the familiar notion from the modular representation theory of finite groups, we define the p-rank rkp() of and determine the structure of those group schemes of p-rank 1, whose linearly reductive radical is trivial. The most difficult case concerns infinitesimal groups of height 1, which correspond to restricted Lie algebras. Our results show that group schemes of p-rank ≤ 1 are closely related to those being of finite or domestic representation type.

Let [Formula: see text] be a complete discrete valuation field. Let [Formula: see text] be its ring of integers. Let [Formula: see text] be its residue field which we assume to be algebraically closed of characteristic exponent [Formula: see text]. Let [Formula: see text] be a semi-abelian variety. Let [Formula: see text] be its Néron model. The special fiber [Formula: see text] is an extension of the identity component [Formula: see text] by the group of components [Formula: see text]. We say that [Formula: see text] has split reduction if this extension is split. Whereas [Formula: see text] has always split reduction if [Formula: see text] we prove that it is no longer the case if [Formula: see text] even if [Formula: see text] is tamely ramified. If [Formula: see text] is the Jacobian variety of a smooth proper and geometrically connected curve [Formula: see text] of genus [Formula: see text], we prove that for any tamely ramified extension [Formula: see text] of degree greater than a constant, depending on [Formula: see text] only, [Formula: see text] has split reduction. This answers some questions of Liu and Lorenzini.

Abstract Relying on a notion of “numerical effectiveness” for Higgs bundles, we show that the category of “numerically flat” Higgs vector bundles on a smooth projective variety X is a Tannakian category. We introduce the associated group scheme, that we call the “Higgs fundamental group scheme of X,” and show that its properties are related to a conjecture about the vanishing of the Chern classes of numerically flat Higgs vector bundles.

AbstractIn this paper we begin studying tannakian constructions in ∞-categories and combine them with the theory of motivic categories developed by Hanamura, Levine, and Voevodsky. This paper is the first in a series of papers. For the purposes above, we first construct a derived affine group scheme and its representation category from a symmetric monoidal ∞-category, which we shall call the tannakization of a symmetric monoidal ∞-category. It can be viewed as an ∞-categorical generalization of work of Joyal-Street and Nori. Next we apply it to the stable ∞-category of mixed motives equipped with the realization functor of a mixed Weil cohomology. We construct a derived motivic Galois group which represents the automorphism group of the realization functor, and whose representation category satisfies an appropriate universal property. As a consequence, we construct an underived motivic Galois group of mixed motives, which is a pro-algebraic group and has nice properties. Also, we present basic properties of derived affine group schemes in the Appendix.

Continuous-time quantum walks (CTQW) over finite group schemes is investigated, where it is shown that some properties of a CTQW over a group scheme defined on a finite group G induces a CTQW over group scheme defined on G/H, where H is a normal subgroup of G with prime index. This reduction can be helpful in analyzing CTQW on underlying graphs of group schemes. Even though this claim is proved for normal subgroups with prime index (using the Clifford's theorem from representation theory), it is checked in some examples that for other normal subgroups or even non-normal subgroups, the result is also true! It means that CTQW over the graph on G, starting from any arbitrary vertex, is isomorphic to the CTQW over the quotient graph on G/H if we take the sum of the amplitudes corresponding to the vertices belonging to the same cosets.

International audience We provide an equivalence between the category of affine, smooth group schemes over the ring of generalized dual numbers $k[I]$, and the category of extensions of the form $1 \to \text{Lie}(G, I) \to E \to G \to 1$ where G is an affine, smooth group scheme over k. Here k is an arbitrary commutative ring and $k[I] = k \oplus I$ with $I^2 = 0$. The equivalence is given by Weil restriction, and we provide a quasi-inverse which we call Weil extension. It is compatible with the exact structures and the $\mathbb{O}_k$-module stack structures on both categories. Our constructions rely on the use of the group algebra scheme of an affine group scheme; we introduce this object and establish its main properties. As an application, we establish a Dieudonné classification for smooth, commutative, unipotent group schemes over $k[I]$.

Abstract Let K be a complete discrete valuation field whose residue field is perfect and of positive characteristic, let X be a connected, proper scheme over \mathcal{O}_{K} , and let U be the complement in X of a divisor with simple normal crossings. Assume that the pair (X,U) is strictly semi-stable over \mathcal{O}_{K} of relative dimension one and K is of equal characteristic. We prove that, for any smooth \ell -adic sheaf \mathcal{G} on U of rank one, at most tamely ramified on the generic fiber, if the ramification of \mathcal{G} is bounded by t+ for the logarithmic upper ramification groups of Abbes–Saito at points of codimension one of X, then the ramification of the étale cohomology groups with compact support of \mathcal{G} is bounded by t+ in the same sense.

In Umemura [9], we calculated the invariants algcd (G), p(G), q(G) for a commutative algebraic group G. We remark that all the results hold for a group scheme which is not necessarily commutative. To determine p(G), I cannot succeed in dropping the hypothesis “quasi-projective” but this assumption is satisfied in the characteristic 0 case.

Abstract Let K be a complete discrete valuation field of characteristic $0$ , with not necessarily perfect residue field of characteristic $p>0$ . We define a Faltings extension of $\mathcal {O}_K$ over $\mathbb {Z}_p$ , and we construct a Hodge-Tate filtration for abelian varieties over K by generalizing Fontaine’s construction [Fon82] where he treated the perfect residue field case.
