Lanthanides (LnIII) are well known for their characteristic emission in the Near-Infrared Region (NIR). However, direct excitation of lanthanides is not feasible as described by Laporte’s parity selection rule. Here,...

The crystal structures of a thiophene-based terpyridine ligand and its four zinc halide complexes had been discussed. The open-aperture Z-scan results showed that LZnBr2 exhibits the best two-photon absorption property, which is greatly superior to that of the free ligand L.
