The crystal structures of a thiophene-based terpyridine ligand and its four zinc halide complexes had been discussed. The open-aperture Z-scan results showed that LZnBr2 exhibits the best two-photon absorption property, which is greatly superior to that of the free ligand L.

Optical nonlinearities of zeolitic imidazolate framework-67 (ZIF-67) were determined in the near-infrared region. The high TPA cross section and large third-order susceptibility demonstrate the potential of ZIF-67 for nonlinear optical devices.
