The growing amount of image data (produced in a multitude of different ways – for example, like photo albums from various events) and lack of a direct search method for image information frequently create a situation in which end users of the service that publishes such data want to find themselves but cannot do it faster than looking through all entries one by one. The objective of this study is to develop and implement an approach that would be able to process this kind of data source and extract images similar to those provided by end-users in an on-demand manner. To this end, the modern methods for extract and compressing faces are introduced and applied.

Multimedia data is growing rapidly in the current digital era, one of which is digital image data. The increasing need for a large number of digital image datasets makes the constraints faced eventually drain a lot of time and cause the process of image description to be inconsistent. Therefore, a method is needed in processing the data, especially in searching digital image data in large image dataset to find image data that are relevant to the query image. One of the proposed methods for searching information based on image content is content based image retrieval (CBIR). The main advantage of the CBIR method is automatic retrieval process, compared to traditional keyword. This research was conducted on a combination of the HSV color histogram methods and the discrete wavelet transform to extract color features and textures features, while the chi-square distance technique was used to compare the test images with images into a database. The results have showed that the digital image search system with color and texture features have a precision value of 37.5% - 100%, with an average precision value of 80.71%, while the percentage accuracy is 93.7% - 100% with an average accuracy is 98.03%.

Abstract. Image File Searching Based on Color Domination. One characteristic of an image that can be used in image searching process is the composition of the colors. Color is a trait that is easily seen by man in the picture. The use of color as a searching parameter can provide a solution in an easier searching for images stored in computer memory. Color images have RGB values that can be computed and converted into HSL color space model. Use of HSL images model is very easy because it can be calculated using a percent, so that in each pixel of the image can be grouped and named, this can give a dominant values of the colors contained in one image. By obtaining these values, the image search can be done quickly just by using these values to a retrieval system image file. This article discusses the use of the HSL color space model to facilitate the searching for a digital image in the digital image data warehouse. From the test results of the application form, a searching is faster by using the colors specified by the user. Obstacles encountered were still searching with a choice of 15 basic colors available, with a limit of 33% dominance of the color image search was not found. This is due to the dominant color in each image has the most dominant value below 33%.   Keywords: RGB, HSL, image searching Abstrak.

A survey was conducted at Beijing Normal University to explore subjects’ motives for image seeking; the image types they need; how and where they seek images; and the difficulties they encounter. The survey also explored subjects’ attitudes toward current image services and their perceptions of how university libraries might provide assistance. Based on the findings, this article summarizes the features of Chinese undergraduate students’ daily image needs and their information behavior related to images. The findings reveal the need to improve the image services offered by academic libraries and strengthen undergraduates’ information literacy with respect to image search and use.

In this paper, we propose a new hybrid direct search method where a frame-based PRP conjugate gradients direct search algorithm is combined with radial basis function interpolation model. In addition, the rotational minimal positive basis is used to reduce the computation work at each iteration. Numerical results for solving the CUTEr test problems show that the proposed method is promising.

To address the difficulty involved when using existing commercial Geographic Information System platforms to integrate multi-source image data fusion, this research proposes the loading of multi-source local tile data based on CesiumJS and examines the tile data organization mechanisms and spatial reference differences of the CesiumJS platform, as well as various tile data sources, such as Google maps, Map World, and Bing maps. Two types of tile data loading schemes have been designed for the mashup of tiles, the single data source loading scheme and the multi-data source loading scheme. The multi-sources of digital map tiles used in this paper cover two different but mainstream spatial references, the WGS84 coordinate system and the Web Mercator coordinate system. According to the experimental results, the single data source loading scheme and the multi-data source loading scheme with the same spatial coordinate system showed favorable visualization effects; however, the multi-data source loading scheme was prone to lead to tile image deformation when loading multi-source tile data with different spatial references. The resulting method provides a low cost and highly flexible solution for small and medium-scale GIS programs and has a certain potential for practical application values. The problem of deformation during the transition of different spatial references is an important topic for further research.

Mobile computing and wireless communications continue to change the way in which we perceive our lifestyles and habits. Through an extensive literature review of state-of-the-art human-computer interaction issues in mobile computing (Mobile HCI), we examine recent pertinent case studies that attempt to provide practical mobile capabilities to users. We thus contribute to the reader a primer to the philosophy of developing mobile systems for user centred design. User centred design elicits the needs and requirements of end users. Its purpose in mobile systems is to enable useful computing and communicating experiences for diverse types of users, anywhere at anytime and on demand. We shall therefore illustrate to the reader some of the key constraints of mobile devices such as limited visuals, contextual awareness and mobility itself, and more importantly how they can be overcome through innovative design and development.

The main purpose of this article is to demonstrate how evolution strategy optimizers can be improved by incorporating an efficient hybridization scheme with restart strategy in order to jump out of local solution regions. The authors propose a hybrid (μ, λ)ES-NM algorithm based on the Nelder-Mead (NM) simplex search method and evolution strategy algorithm (ES) for unconstrained optimization. At first, a modified NM, called Adaptive Nelder-Mead (ANM) is used that exhibits better properties than standard NM and self-adaptive evolution strategy algorithm is applied for better performance, in addition to a new contraction criterion is proposed in this work. (μ, λ)ES-NM is balancing between the global exploration of the evolution strategy algorithm and the deep exploitation of the Nelder-Mead method. The experiment results show the efficiency of the new algorithm and its ability to solve optimization problems in the performance of accuracy, robustness, and adaptability.
