PuBeneutrons sources of Educational Neutron Laboratory in the Center for Physical Sciences and Technology are used in several activities including neutron activation for educational purposes and laboratory irradiation experiments. In this work we address the dose rate estimation in the irradiation channels of reconstructed PuBe neutron sources storage device in the particular positions dedicated for neutron irradiation experiments using neutron activation analysis (NAA) and MCNP6 modelling. The results on neutron activation of V2O5, MnO2, Al and Na2CO3were analyzed and compared with MCNP6 model prediction results. The conclusions on the actual neutron flux energy distribution and model corrections are drawn. The absolute neutron intensity at dedicated irradiation points as well as neutron and gamma dose rates are obtained.

This paper presents the results of TL and OSL dating of soil and fragments of bricks from a grave, which was occupied by two mummified nuns, found at "Luz" Monastery, located in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The TL and OSL ages were compared to C-14 dating ones obtained from bone collagens of the mummies. The majority of the ages is related to the eighteenth century. The gamma-ray spectroscopy was used to evaluate natural radioisotope concentrations in the samples, and by using these concentrations the annual dose rates, from 3.0 to 5.3 Gy/kyr, were obtained. Neutron activation analysis was performed and the radioisotope contents results are in agreement with those obtained by gamma-ray spectroscopy. The contents of U, Th and Ce elements were higher than those found in usual sediments.

In neutron activation analysis based on the ko standardization method (ko INAA), the ko-factor is a combination of nuclear constants and it was measured by experiments. It plays an important role in the accuracy of ko-INAA method. Therefore, it is necessary to measure the ko-factors in many different neutron sources and compare the results. In this paper, the ko- factors to gold of manganese (ko, Au(Mn)), cadmium ((ko, Au(Cd)), Chromium ((koAu(Cr)), Zinc ((ko, Au(Zn)), Arsenic ((ko, Au(As)), Vanadium ((ko,Au(V) by neutron activation with the Am-Be isotope neutron source were measured. The comparision between our results and the results of Decorter et. al. showed relative differences of less than twenty percents. Among which, our most accurate result was found in (ko, Au(Mn) with only 1.18 percents relative difference.
