Se puede, se debe, hoy pensar la filosofía, la política pública, la universidad, la formación del profesorado, las luchas sociales, etc, en clave intercultural. No por un mero afán academicista sino como base para desde ahí construir sociedades interculturales. Hoy ya es lugar común saber que lo intercultural nació vinculado a la simple idea de diversidad; sin embargo, más que nunca es necesario pensarla como posibilidad de ruta crítica de mucho del accionar humano. Este trabajo se publica en el contexto post paro nacional de octubre de 2019. Ahí quedó claro que la interculturalidad tiene que ver con históricas cargas racistas-coloniales y con contemporáneas desigualdades económicas que cruzan geopolíticas globales, regionales y nacionales. Esto nos muestra la necesidad de tomarnos en serio una interculturalidad que apunte a la abolición de las asimetrías sociales en conexión con la apuesta por la construcción de una verdadera plurinacionalidad. Una que exija el respeto a la diferencia en términos políticos y equidad en términos económicos.

The paper presents the concept of masculinity within the non-binary and multilayered model of gender/sex traits. Within that model, masculinity is not a simple idea, but rather is fragmented into many traits in diverse clusters. The experience of transgender men and men with intersex traits suggests that self-determined male gender identity is a mega trait that is sufficient for being a man. However, masculinity is not only psychological, as the content of the psychological feeling of being a man refers to social norms about how men should be and behave. And male coded traits are described as traits that frequently occur within the group of people identifying as men. Therefore, I claim that there are two interdependent ideas in the concept of masculinity: the self-determined male gender identity (first-person perspective) and a cluster of traits coded as male (third-person perspective). Within non-binary model the interplay between the two interdependent ideas allows to include borderline masculinities.

Novelty pruning is a planning technique that focuses on exploring states that are novel, i.e., those containing facts that have not been seen before. This seemingly simple idea has had a huge impact on the state of the art in planning though its effectiveness is not entirely understood yet.We relate novelty to dominance pruning, which compares states to previously seen states to eliminate those that are provably worse in terms of goal distance. Novelty can be interpreted as an unsafe approximation of dominance, where states containing novel facts are relevant because they enable new paths to the goal and, therefore, they are less likely to be dominated by others. This provides a framework to understand the success of novelty, resulting in new variants that combine both techniques.

This chapter details how all of this changed over the course of the seventeenth century, and specifically the important role that the English Habeas Corpus Act of 1679 played in this shift. As is also explored, Parliament’s objectives in passing the Habeas Corpus Act sprang from its intention to expand its power at the expense of the king much more so than a desire to protect individual liberty. But in time, Blackstone and others came to praise the Act as a “second Magna Carta” for curtailing the detention of so-called “state prisoners.”
