In recent years, the agent technology has been successfully applied in supply chains, thanks to its excellent interactivity, proactivity, and autonomy. However, the existing research on multi-agent green supply chain (GSC) stops on the strategic and tactical levels, failing to implement the relevant supply chain models. To overcome the limitation, this paper designs a multi-agent GSC management system for retailers, with the aim to obtain scientific collaboration strategies among multiple agents and to make effective logistics decisions for the supply chain. Firstly, a 3-layer hierarchical evaluation index system (EIS) was established under the framework of the multi-agent GSC management system. Next, the authors modeled the supply-demand relationship and dynamic game of multi-agent GSC, and discussed the cooperation and negotiation models among multiple agents. Experimental results show that the proposed multi-agent GSC management model is highly effective. The research findings provide a reference for the application of multi-agent technology in other types of supply chain enterprises.

Accuracy management of production materials plays an important role in offshore platform projects. To improve both the efficiency and accuracy of material management in offshore platform projects, a novel material management system characterized by the notion of a material information unit was proposed in light of a review of the industrial Internet of Things and multi-agent technology. The material information unit is used to carry data on production materials and serve as a basic information unit in the system. Furthermore, agents of different functions are employed to tackle assorted tasks. Using this system, material information can be precisely recorded, tracked, and traced during the manufacture of offshore platforms. In addition to this system, an algorithm targeting at multi-agent negotiation is designed. Finally, a prototype system is developed to verify the feasibility and efficiency of this material management process.

The bottlenecks of supply chain management need to be solved. The development of internet promotes the Agent technology. Internet makes the Agent technology become a powerful tool that breaks through the bottlenecks of the supply chain management skills. With the guidance of system engineering and methods, an agile supply chain management system with Agent technology of artificial intelligence is presented in this paper. The application of Multi-Agent technology in the ASCM model is discussed also. Results indicate that the application of Multi-Agent skill in the ASCM model is a feasible way of thinking and appropriate approach.

The importance of cooperation in the supply chain has led scholars to suggest diverse approaches for problems in the collaboration process. Cooperation refers to the integration of different parts of an organization or different organizations in supply chain to accomplish a collective set of tasks and to achieve mutual benefits. The use of modern information technology (IT) decision support systems is fast becoming an indispensable tool for designing and managing complex supply chain systems today. This study describes a model of intelligent framework for cooperation in the supply chain environment. The aim of the paper is to demonstrate that agent technology can represent the supply chains by (a) reviewing intelligent agent applications for supply chain and (b) illustrating how a multi-agent system can provides a solution for supply chain cooperation. We review and synthesis existing applications in comparison to traditional and Internet-based technologies and critically evaluate agent technology applicability for supply chain management. This paper thus provides an intelligent framework for extended enterprise cooperation (i-SEEC) by adopting the techniques of the Semantic Web service and Multi-agents system. The proposed system can integrate different information technologies to make its behavior more intelligent and to catch more useful information from supply chain actors.
