Newton-Kantorovich and Smale uniform type of convergence theorem of a deformed Newton method having the third-order convergence is established in a Banach space for solving nonlinear equations. The error estimate is determined to demonstrate the efficiency of our approach. The obtained results are illustrated with three examples.

The semi-local convergence analysis of a well defined and efficient two-step Chord-type method in Banach spaces is presented in this study. The recurrence relation technique is used under some weak assumptions. The pertinency of the assumed method is extended for nonlinear non-differentiable operators. The convergence theorem is also established to show the existence and uniqueness of the approximate solution. A numerical illustration is quoted to certify the theoretical part which shows that earlier studies fail if the function is non-differentiable.

We present a new modified Newton's method with third-order convergence and compare it with the Jarratt method, which is of fourth-order. Based on this new method, we obtain a family of Newton-type methods, which converge cubically. Numerical examples show that the presented method can compete with Newton's method and other known third-order modifications of Newton's method.

Relatively nonexpansive mappings and equilibrium problems are considered based on a shrinking projection method. Using properties of the generalizedf-projection operator, a strong convergence theorem for relatively nonexpansive mappings and equilibrium problems is proved in Banach spaces under some suitable conditions.

In this manuscript, a new family of Jacobian-free iterative methods for solving nonlinear systems is presented. The fourth-order convergence for all the elements of the class is established, proving, in addition, that one element of this family has order five. The proposed methods have four steps and, in all of them, the same divided difference operator appears. Numerical problems, including systems of academic interest and the system resulting from the discretization of the boundary problem described by Fisher’s equation, are shown to compare the performance of the proposed schemes with other known ones. The numerical tests are in concordance with the theoretical results.
