It is fatal for the autonomous robots in the real world, filled with enormous amount of information, to catch only the useful and related information of their actions. Affordance would be one of the key words to make them available the ability to catch those useful information. This paper, therefore, tries to enable an autonomous robot affordance by introducing Inner Perceptual Model (IPM) as a field that will make the sensory inputs as a grounded symbol. An emergent mechanism of Affordance is proposed by means of IPM, Active Sensing System, and Information Processing System. Four necessary conditions to be satisfied is settled to clarify whether the Perceptual Pattern in IPM could be the inner representation of the environment. Computer simulations show the possibility that IPM would be an inner representation of the environment as grounded symbols.

This paper can be retrieved from here: https://encyclopedia.pub/14505 ======================================================= The psycho-religious mechanism of suicide is an information processing mechanism of how the mind perceives the idea of self-killing, with a focus on the factor of trust as well as mortality-related information from religious sources. It can be considered an expansion of the new Mindsponge-based suicidal ideation mechanism.

ABSTRACT This paper examines pricing differences across recognized and disclosed fair values. We build on prior literature by examining two theoretical causes of such differences: lower reliability of the disclosed information, and/or investors' higher related information processing costs. We examine European real estate firms reporting under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), which require that fair values for investment properties, our sample firms' key operating asset, either be recognized on the balance sheet or disclosed in the footnotes. Consistent with prior research, we predict and find a lower association between equity prices and disclosed relative to recognized investment property fair values, reflecting a discount applied to disclosed fair values. We then predict and find that this discount is mitigated by lower information processing costs (proxied via high analyst following), and some support that it is also mitigated by higher reliability (proxied via use of external appraisals). These latter results are documented using subsample analyses to test one attribute (either information processing costs or reliability) while holding the other constant. Overall, these findings are consistent with fair value reliability and information processing costs providing complementary explanations for observed pricing discounts assessed on disclosed accounting amounts. Data Availability: Data are available from public sources identified in the manuscript.

Based on human information processing theory it was hypothesized that consumers' information processing objective would influence the amount of time they devoted to examining product labels, their memory for product safety information, and as a result, the likelihood they would comply with safety recommendations. More specifically, it was expected that compared to consumers with an impression-set processing objective, consumers with a memory-set processing objective would: 1) devote more time to examining product labels; 2) recall more safety-related information; and 3) be more likely to comply with safety recommendations. Results provided unequivocal support for the first two hypotheses and only partial support for the third hypothesis.
