Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran lingkaran SMP Kelas VIII dengan suplemen materi History of Mathematics (HoM) yang terdiri dari RPP dan Modul yang memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif. Model pengembangan ynag digunakan adalah model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation). Analisis data kevalidan dan kepraktisan dilakukan dengan cara mengkonversi skor empiris yang diperoleh menjadi data kualitatif skala lima. Analisis keefektifan dilakukan dengan cara menentukan persentase banyak siswa yang mencapai kategori minimal tinggi untuk angket dan menentukan persentase ketuntasan siswa pada tes prestasi belajar. Berdasarkan hasil validasi, RPP dan Modul yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria valid dengan kategori sangat baik. RPP dan Modul yang dikembangkan praktis dan efektif. Kepraktisan perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan mencapai kategori sangat baik berdasarkan hasil observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dan penilaian guru, modul mencapai kategori baik berdasarkan respon siswa. Perangkat pembelajaran juga efektif ditinjau dari motivasi, rasa ingin tahu, dan prestasi belajar siswa.Kata Kunci: pengembangan, perangkat pembelajaran, History of Mathematics Developing Circle Instructional Kits of 8th Grade Junior High School with the Supplement of History of Mathematics (HOM) Material AbstractThis research aims to produce the circle instructional kits for 8th grade Junior High School with the supplement of history of mathematics (HoM), consists of lesson plans and module. The developing model was ADDIE’s model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The validity and practicality of the data were analyzed by converting the empiric scores obtained into five scale qualitative data. The effectivity was analyzed by determining the percentage of students who reached minimally high category of the questionnaires and determining the percentage of student’s completeness in the achievement test. Based on the validation result of lesson plans and module which have been developed, they include in valid criteria with very good category. Lesson plans and module which have been developed are practical and effective. The Practicability of instructional kits that are developed reach very good category that based on observation result of lesson implementation and teacher’s evaluation, the module reaches good categoty that based on students’ response. Instructional kits also effective based on students’ motivation, curiosity, and achievement.Keywords: development, instructional kit, History of Mathematics

The history of American education shows that the schools have always responded to demands for adjustment of education to the needs of the community. At the time when the high schools came into existence the need was for leaders of society, i.e., doctors, ministers, and scholars. Accordingly, the major function of the high-school teacher was to train pupils for leadership. The curriculum was designed to prepare them for college. Entrance was made intentionally difficult by examinations designed to exclude those not qualified. This made the high-school population a rather select group of pupils. It is interesting to observe that mathematics was a major subject which everybody was required to take.

AbstractThe International Astronomy Olympiad (IAO) was founded in the 1990s as an annual scientific educating event for students of the junior high school classes. Starting from 4 teams at the 1st event in 1996 the Olympiad includes more than 20 countries nowadays. The style of the problems of IAO is aimed at developing the imagination, creativity and independent thinking. They stimulate the students to recognize the problem independently, to choose a model, to make necessary suppositions, estimations, to conduct multiway calculations or logic operations. The Asian-Pacific Astronomy Olympiad was founded as a “daughter” (“affiliated”) olympiad in system of the International Astronomy Olympiad in 2005.

One of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) is to improve maternal and child health. To improve maternal health starts from adolescent health to women of childbearing age. An important aspect of adolescent girls’ health is reproductive health, which is characterized by the occurrence of menarche (first menstruation). Menarche is influenced by many factors, such as factors of race, ethnicity, genetic, social, economic, medicine, health, and audio visual equipment. The effects of global information (audiovisual media) which is more accessible will lure children and teenagers to adopt bad habits such as watching blue films, pornographic VCDs, porn internet access, and porn scene via mobile.The aim of this research is  to determine the relationship of the history of watching audiovisual to age of menarche among junior high school female students in Kebumen Sub-district of Kebumen District.A cross sectional survey design was used in this study. The Population was VII grade female students of 5.050 who had experienced menarche in the Junior High School Subdistrict Kebumen District Kebumen. Sampling methods use two-level clustering method. The first stage level at random cluster sample selection and the second level is a simple random elementary unit. Samples were obtained as many as 214 students selected at random proportionate sampling at each school. Data was collected through questionnaires, measurements of weight and height scales by meter. The data analysis by Chi Square test and used to know best models by logistic regression test.The results show that  mean age of menarche was 11.8 years. Most of the students (58.4%) had a history of watching audio-visual equipment. There was a significant relationship of a history of watching audio-visual (p 0.001; RP = 2.57, 95% CI = 1.68 to 3.94), socioeconomic (p 0.0001; PR = 1.77, 95% CI = 1.25 to 2.49) to the age of menarche. There was no significant relationship between chronic disease (p 0.918) and nutritional status (p 0.448) and the age of menarche. The history of watching an audio-visual was associated with age of menarche, and had 5.14 times more likely than girls who never watched any audio-visual equipment. There needs to be education about reproductive health for adolescents and supervise the use of audio-visual media in accessing porn movies. Keywords: Audio Visual, menarche, Adolescent
