For low-pass filtering of airborne gravity data processing, elliptic low-pass digital filters were designed and filtering influences of the elliptic filter order, upper limit passband frequency, maximal passband attenuation and minimal stopband attenuation were studied. The results show that the upper limit passband frequency has the greatest effect on filtering among four parameters; the filter order and the maximal passband attenuation have some influence, but instability will increase with larger order; the effect of the minimal stopband attenuation is not obvious when reaching a certain value, which requires a combination of evaluation indicator accuracy to determine the optimal value. The standard deviations of discrepancies between the elliptic filtered gravity anomaly with optimal parameters and the commercial software result are within 1mGal, and the internal accord accuracy along four survey lines after level adjusting is about 0.620mGal.

Abstract Abstract: This paper discusses applicability of periodically slotted electrodes for realization of wideband transversely-coupled double-mode resonator filters using lithium niobate (LN) thin plate. First, two-dimensional analysis is carried out, and it is shown that the periodic structure is effective to control the frequency separation between two resonance modes, and synthesis of the fractional bandwidth larger than 24% is achievable. Next, 3D analysis is performed for suppression of spurious resonances. It is shown that the mass loading at aperture edges is effective for the piston mode operation, and transverse modes can be well suppressed. It is also pointed out that the bottom electrode should be covered only the aperture region and removed from the busbar and gap regions for suppression of unwanted resonances. With these proper edge treatments, spurious-free and wide passband can be synthesized.

Photoplethysmography (PPG) is an optical method for recording pulse wave (PW) propagating in the tissue microvasculature. As a rule, filters with infinite impulse response (Butterworth, Bessel, etc.) often used in PPG signal processing introduce distortions in the PW signal. At the same time, the filtering parameters for a more accurate reproduction of PW have not yet been substantiated. The aim of this work is to study the influence of digital filtering parameters, such as bandwidth and filter order, on the pulse waveform. In the study, a digital bandpass Butterworth filter was used. The lower cutoff frequency of the filter varied from 0.1 to 1 Hz, the upper cutoff frequency varied from 2 to 10 Hz and the filter order – from 2nd to 6th. It was found that an increase in the lower cutoff frequency of the bandpass filtering leads to a decrease in the amplitude of the reflected diastolic wave and distortion of the front of the direct systolic wave. A decrease in the upper cutoff frequency leads to damping of the dicrotic notch and a phase shift of the PW. Increasing the filter order decreases the reflected wave amplitude. The minimal distortions of the PPG signal were observed at the lower cutoff frequency of 0.1 Hz, the upper one at 10 Hz and the filter order equal to 2. Thus, these parameters of a bandpass filtering can be recommended for processing PPG signals for a more accurate morphological analysis of PW. The obtained results make it possible to create devices for PW analysis with substantiated medical and technical requirements for filtration parameters.
