Introduction: The co-authors provide an overview of the main types of wind turbines and power generators installed into wind energy devices, as well as advanced technological solutions. The co-authors have identified the principal strengths and weaknesses of existing wind power generators, if applied as alternative energy sources. The co-authors have proven the need to develop an algorithm for the selection of a wind generator-based autonomous power supply system in the course of designing windmill farms in Russia. Methods: The co-authors have analyzed several types of wind turbines and power generators. Results and discussions: The algorithm for the selection of a wind generator-based autonomous power supply system is presented as a first approximation. Conclusion: The emerging algorithm enables designers to develop an effective wind generator-based autonomous power supply system.

The article deals with the issues of glass use in the enclosing structures of large-span coverings, which have such advantages as ensuring the penetration of natural light, tightness, minimum labor costs for repair and maintenance. Design shortcomings: the high cost, the need for protection of the internal volume against the penetrating sun rays in the warm season (hothouse effect); arrangement of devices for operation of a roof. The key technical properties and characteristics of glass panels and pane-glass sets, constructive decisions, including interface to the main bearing structures of a large-span covering are given. Peculiarities of their design with due regard for ventilation and smoke removal, a drainage of condensate, ways of fight against frosting and snow drifts on the roof are reflected. Features of the account of loadings, the basic approaches to their calculation are considered. Various design solutions for the spatial metal trussed systems with the original nodal connections are presented. Information on modern solutions of translucent roofs using glass for large-span coverings is given.

The article analyzes the influence of wind speed prediction error on the size of the controlled operation zone of the storage. The equation for calculating the power at the output of the wind generator according to the known values of wind speed is given. It is shown that when the wind speed prediction error reaches a value of 20%, the controlled operation zone of the storage disappears. The necessity of comparing prediction methods with different data discreteness to ensure the minimum possible prediction error and determining the influence of data discreteness on the error is substantiated. The equations of the "predictor-corrector" scheme for the Adams, Heming, and Milne methods are given. Newton's second interpolation formula for interpolation/extrapolation is given at the end of the data table. The average relative error of MARE was used to assess the accuracy of the prediction. It is shown that the prediction error is smaller when using data with less discreteness. It is shown that when using the Adams method with a prediction horizon of up to 30 min, within ± 34% of the average energy value, the drive can be controlled or discharged in a controlled manner. The paper considers the mathematical model development technique to build a vector field of the shape deviations when machining flat surfaces of shell parts on multi-operational machines under conditions of anisotropic rigidity in technological system (TS). The technological system has an anisotropic rigidity, as its elastic strains do not obey the accepted concepts, i.e. the rigidity towards the coordinate axes of the machine is the same, and they occur only towards the external force. The record shows that the diagrams of elastic strains of machine units are substantially different from the circumference. The issues to ensure the specified accuracy require that there should be mathematical models describing kinematic models and physical processes of mechanical machining under conditions of the specific TS. There are such models for external and internal surfaces of rotation [2,3], which are successfully implemented in practice. Flat surfaces (FS) of shell parts (SP) are both assembly and processing datum surfaces. Therefore, on them special stipulations are made regarding deviations of shape and mutual arrangement. The axes of the main bearing holes are coordinated with respect to them. The joints that ensure leak tightness and distributed load on the product part are closed on these surfaces. The paper deals with the analytical construction of the vector field F, which describes with appropriate approximation the real surface obtained as a result of modeling the process of machining flat surfaces (MFS) through face milling under conditions of anisotropic properties.
