In this paper, a 3-DOF translational parallel mechanism with parallelogram linkage was studied. According to the space vector relation between the moving platform and the fixed base, the direct and inverse position solutions of this mechanism was deduced through analytical method. In addition, the error of the algorithm was analyzed, and the algorithm had turned out to be effective and to have the satisfactory computational precision. On the above basis, the workspace of this mechanism was found through graphical method, which was compared with that of finding through Monte Carlo method, and there was the feasibility for analyzing the workspace of the mechanism by graphical method. The characteristic of the mechanism was analyzed by comparing the results of two analysis methods, which provided a theoretical basis for the application of the mechanism.

Evaluating measurement uncertainty of a physical quantity is a mandatory requirement for laboratories within the recognition ISO/IEC 17025 certification to access reliability of measured results. In this work, the uncertainty of ionizing radiation measurements such as air-kerma, personal dose equivalent Hp(d) was evaluated based on GUM method and Monte Carlo method. An uncertainty propagation software has been developed for evaluation of the measurement uncertainty more convenient.

The variant of Monte Carlo method for calculation of transfer of ionizing radiation having quanta energy of Eph=1-200keV is considered. The hybrid numerical and analytical method of calculation is offered. At numerical realization of each trajectory photo-absorption of quanta is considered analytically and other types of interactions (Compton and Relay scatterings, fluorescence) are realized in a random way. Calculations results for transfer of radiation having Plank spectrum are given for flat multilayered barriers.

In this investigation, neutron capture therapy (NCT) through high energy neutrons using Monte Carlo method has been studied. In this study a new method of NCT for a sample liver phantom has been defined, and interaction of 12 MeV neutrons with a multilayer spherical phantom is considered. In order to reach the desirable energy range of neutrons in accord with required energy in absence of eligible clinical neutron source for NCT, this model of phantom might be utilized. The neutron flux and the deposited dose in the all components and different layers of the mentioned phantom are computed by Monte Carlo simulation. The results of Monte Carlo method are compared with analytical method results so that by using a computer program in Turbo-Pascal programming, the deposited dose in the liver phantom has been computed.

One of the most important challenges in fluid mechanics, gas dynamics, and hydraulic machinery fields is measuring the flow velocity with high accuracy. It is more important in large systems; such as thermal power stations, large scale power generations, and combined cycle power plants. The exact estimation of the measurement uncertainty inflow velocity is extremely important in evaluating the accuracy of the measurement. This work describes the problem of estimating measurement uncertainty when there are two or more dominant components of the uncertainty budget. . Two methods, analytical and numerical methods are used to study the comparative analysis for the results of determining the expanded uncertainty of measurement using two methods: analytical method and the numerical method. The analytical method uses the law of uncertainty propagation and is based on the estimation of uncertainty values of type A and B, while the numerical technique depends on the evaluation of measured samples by the Monte Carlo method using a random number generator. The aim of this article is to show the Monte Carlo method as an alternative way to determine the distribution of individual components of the measurement uncertainty budget. Also, the measurement of liquid flow velocity by an ultrasonic method has been analyzed, which is commonly used due to high measurement accuracy and non-invasiveness. Due to the complexity of the equation defining the measured flow velocity, determining the measurement uncertainty is not an easy task.
