Exosomes derived from tumor cells contain various molecular components, such as proteins, RNA, DNA, lipids, and carbohydrates. These components play a crucial role in all stages of tumorigenesis and development. Moreover, they reflect the physiological and pathological status of parental tumor cells. Recently, tumor-derived exosomes have become popular biomarkers for non-invasive liquid biopsy and the diagnosis of numerous cancers. The interdisciplinary significance of exosomes research has also attracted growing enthusiasm. However, the intrinsic nature of tumor-derived exosomes requires advanced methods to detect and evaluate the complex biofluid. This review analyzes the relationship between exosomes and tumors. It also summarizes the exosomal biological origin, composition, and application of molecular markers in clinical cancer diagnosis. Remarkably, this paper constitutes a comprehensive summary of the innovative research on numerous detection strategies for tumor-derived exosomes with the intent of providing a theoretical basis and reference for early diagnosis and clinical treatment of cancer.

Plant secondary metabolites (PSMs) contained in plant litter will be released into soil with the decomposition process, which will affect the diversity and function of soil microbiomes. The response of soil microbiomes to PSMs in terms of diversity and function can provide an important theoretical basis for plantations to put forward rational soil ecological management measures.

The paper describes a theoretical basis developed for estimating the parameters of a steady-state biotechnological process characterized by nonlinear microorganism growth kinetics. This study aimed to obtain a common methodological basis for estimating input parameters that determine actual technology implementation, taking into account all possible restrictions on the concentration of incoming substrate Sf (g/l) and dilution rate D (h-1 ). The theory development was based on a mathematical model describing one of the most common processes of lactic acid production. This mathematical model includes three mass balance equations (for biomass, substrate, and product), as well as an equation of microorganism growth kinetics. The study established relations for calculating the ultimate value of the dilution rate D ult at a given Sf , relations for the maximum and minimum values of Sf , as well as Sf and D providing the maximum productivity value QP, g/(l·h), where QP = PD (P – product concentration, g/l). These relations were designed to calculate the parameters of possible process implementation for two options at the same value of QP: two values of D calculated for a given Sf and two values of Sf calculated for a given D. A numerical experiment is described using the constants of the mathematical model confirmed by foreign studies. This numerical experiment is illustrated using an Sf-D dependence pattern determining an acceptable value range for Sf and D, with the separate calculation of parameters according to Sf sections. For each of these sections, calculation formulas are provided. It is concluded that the developed theoretical basis is sufficiently general in nature to be applied to biotechnological processes that involve other kinetic relations, as well as microorganism strains creating by-products and using raw materials that are employed to reproduce the substrate in the process of synthesis.

The deep-sea mining miner requires good passability to operate in complex and changeable terrain environment of the seabed. Among them, the track tension is an important factor to ensure the normal running of the vehicle. Aiming at the complex track tension problem on track link, the forces on each component of the tracked system were analyzed, and the theoretical formulas of track tension were established. The theoretical estimation and dynamic simulation of track tension in uniform speed were carried out by using the multibody dynamics model of the tracked vehicle, and the rationality of the theoretical estimation formula was verified. The influencing factors of track tension also were analyzed, and the significance of each factor on track was discussed by dynamic simulation. The results provided a theoretical basis for design of tracked vehicles.

Abstract SAF2205 bidirectional stainless steel is an excellent material for multiple corrugated diaphragms. It is necessary to study its stamping forming characteristics and provide a theoretical basis for stamping forming of multiple corrugated diaphragms. In this paper, the detailed V-bending process parameters are formulated. The effects of bending speed, relative fillet radius, temperature, and alignment time on spring-back behavior of SAF2205 bidirectional stainless steel are systematically studied to reveal the positive and negative spring-back mechanism. The range of process parameters suitable for stamping of SAF2205 bidirectional stainless steel was obtained. Article Highlights The detailed V-bending process parameters are formulated. The effect of SAF2205 parameters on the spring-back behavior was studied. The range of process parameters suitable for stamping of SAF2205 was obtained.

In this chapter, self-directed learning (SDL) and the competency to transfer knowledge between different contexts are positioned as essential competencies for the 21st century. Being able to transfer knowledge, especially between different contexts, has increasingly been indicated as essential competency for the 21st century. Transfer of knowledge and skills has however been neglected in SDL research. It is therefore argued that students should be deeper self-directed learners, who can take responsibility for their learning to obtain transferable competencies. Learners should be able to apply their knowledge and SDL skills to new and unknown situations in order to succeed in the 21st century and beyond. Social constructivist theory is suggested as theoretical basis for deeper self-directed learning (DSDL). In this chapter, the concept of DSDL will be defined, and various competencies associated with DSDL will be discussed. Finally, suggestions will be made to develop DSDL in education.

Abstract Canned motor pump is widely used in chemical industry. Due to the particularity of its application, it is necessary to ensure that the medium does not leak completely. If the axial force of impeller is too large, it will directly affect the performance of canned motor pump. Therefore, the floating impeller could be used in the pump to balance the axial force. In this paper, the relationship between axial clearance and leakage rate at the key part of canned motor pump is studied by means of numerical calculation and experimental verification. It is found that the fitting curve is highly consistent with the calculated value, which provided a good theoretical basis for further study of axial clearance control axial force and experimental axial force self-balance. In addition, the leakage rate increases with the increase of axial clearance. The static pressure in the axial clearance first increases and then decreases with the decrease of radius, and the maximum static pressure value is about 10.5% ∼ 15.8% near the clearance inlet. This study is of great significance to the theoretical research on the self-balance state of axial force of impeller.

Abstract: This study sought to discuss the governance structures adopted between livestock producers and their cooperative slaughterhouses in the chain of differentiated beef in the state of Paraná. The theoretical basis used was the Transaction Cost Economics and Measurement Costs Economics, complemented by the specificities of cooperatives. We conducted interviews with three key agents and eleven representatives of six cooperative slaughterhouses operating in this system. As result, we observed that the cooperatives have similar objectives and requirements, although there are differences in the levels of formality or flexibility. Although transactions are recurrent and have been successful, they involve a high asset specificity, depend on subjective measurements, and are still exposed to market uncertainties, which leaves room for the generation of conflicts and disincentives to quality. Despite this, the relational and reputational aspects associated with trust and partnership between the parties are elements that enable reduced transaction and measurement costs in these structures. At first, the measurements conducted by the cooperatives had an important role in the construction of trust between the parties and for value distribution. In a second moment, the trust built enabled the reduction of measurement costs.

Pedagogical creativity is an opportunity to innovate, create agency, and raise awareness of critical commentary on issues which are often regarded as being central to the concepts of social justice and identity within the context of transformative learning. This chapter provides an insight into the theoretical basis of gamification and its usefulness in explicating the meaning that others ascribe to their individual experiences of the world and how they interpret them. Higher education remains a central forum and situationally responsive focus to highlight those issues which remain topical, yet often unaddressed. This affords a lens of intellectual, rationale articulation of what matters – lives lived in a world still tainted with injustice and the lack of society's impetus and appetite for progressive change. Gamification is posited as a means of facilitating freedom of expression for individuals and collective communities, for whom voicing personal beliefs and standpoints has been a barrier for rationale debate on issues of oppression and the advocacy of agency in practice.
