Abstract In 2021, work began as a part of the implementation of the decision of the protocol of the Sakhalin branch of the Russian Expert Council on earthquake prediction, seismic hazard and risk assessment dated October 6, 2020 on detailed monitoring in the area of active coal mining at the Solntsevsky open pit coal mine (Sakhalin Island). New points of seismic monitoring were installed directly in the area of the open pit coal mine. Integration of real-time data received from the points in real time into a unified seismic monitoring system in the Sakhalin Region was ensured. The results of registration of seismic events of various origins since the commissioning of the stations are presented. A significant increase in the accuracy of the determined epicenters and the possibilities of determining earthquakes and industrial explosions has been noted. The results of the monitoring system for studying the landslide process in the area of the open pit coal mine, as well as the probable factors that caused the landslide, are shown. The developed monitoring system allows for representative registration of seismic events with ML ≥ 0.8 in the immediate vicinity of open pit coal mine, which makes it possible to control blasting operations with increased accuracy, as well as weak and possible induced seismicity formed as a result of a constant technogenic impact on the subsoil.

Considering the insufficient ability of data processing existed in configuration software, a scheme integrated both advantages of advanced programming language and configuration software is provided. In this scheme real-time data acquisition and complex processing are achieved by advanced programming language, the human-computer interface and other functions of the monitoring system are achieved by configuration software. Configuration software achieves the purpose of expanding data processing ability by data communications between advanced programming language and configuration software based on OLE technology. The practical application result indicates that the data processing ability of configuration software can be effectively expanded based on OLE technology, which has well stability and real-time, and can play significant performance in complex parameters and data processing related monitoring system.

We have Developed an IoT-based real-time solar power monitoring system in this paper. It seeks an opensource IoT solution that can collect real-time data and continuously monitor the power output and environmental conditions of a photovoltaic panel. The Objective of this work is to continuously monitor the status of various parameters associated with solar systems through sensors without visiting manually, saving time and ensures efficient power output from PV panels while monitoring for faulty solar panels, weather conditionsand other such issues that affect solar effectiveness.Manually, the user must use a multimeter to determine what value of measurement of the system is appropriate for appliance consumers, which is difficult for the larger System. But the Solar Energy Monitoring system is designed to make it easier for users to use the solar system. This system is comprised of a microcontroller (Node MCU), a PV panel, sensors (INA219 Current Module, Digital Temperature Sensor, LDR), a Battery Charger Module, and a battery. The data from the PV panels and other appliances are sent to the cloud (Thingspeak) via the internet using IoT technology and a Wi-Fi module (NodeMCU). It also allows users in remote areas to monitor the parameters of the solar power plant using connected devices. The user can view the current, previous, and average parameters of the solar PV system, such as voltage, current, temperature, and light intensity using a Graphical User Interface. This will facilitate fault detection and maintenance of the solar power plant easier and saves time.

Abstract—An online automatic disaster monitoring system can reduce or prevent geological mine disasters to protect life and property. Global Navigation Satellite System receivers and the GeoRobot are two kinds of in-situ geosensors widely used for monitoring ground movements near mines. A combined monitoring solution is presented that integrates the advantages of both. In addition, a geosensor network system to be used for geological mine disaster monitoring is described. A complete online automatic mine disaster monitoring system including data transmission, data management, and complex data analysis is outlined. This paper proposes a novel overall architecture for mine disaster monitoring. This architecture can seamlessly integrate sensors for long-term, remote, and near real-time monitoring. In the architecture, three layers are used to collect, manage and process observation data. To demonstrate the applicability of the method, a system encompassing this architecture has been deployed to monitor the safety and stability of a slope at an open-pit mine in Inner Mongolia.

Abstract Induced seismicity is an increase in seismic activity caused by the human engineering. An example of such activity is the mineral exploration, large water reservoirs construction, exploitation of underground oil and gas storages, etc. The authors studied the seismicity in the Uglegorsky district of Sakhalin region, where the Solntsevskoye brown coal field is located, which is the most promising in the island. Its area is over 100 sq. km, and productive strata of the Verkhneduiskaya formation with a thickness of up to 600 m contains 12 coal seams, 8 of which are working. Active mining of brown coal is carried out at the Solntsevsky coal mine, and blasting operations are performed on a large scale, that, as a result, does not exclude the relation of the seismic process to technogenic seismicity. The earthquake recurrence curves for two decades beginning from 2000 to the present were constructed in the work to compare the characteristics of the seismic regime in the studied area. The difference in the slope angle of recurrence graph during the period of 2011-2020 (the period of the most active development of the Solntsevsky coal mine) from the previous decade is quite significant. The maps of spatiotemporal distribution of seismic events epicenters in the vicinity of Solntsevsky coal mine are constructed. The contraction of zones of seismic events concentration to the mining areas, first of all to the Solntsevsky coal mine, have been found. Such a combination allows us to talk about an increase in seismicity of the region during the last years and change in its character from the natural to a mixed natural and technogenic. The focal mechanisms of the largest earthquakes occurred in the Uglegorsky district have been constructed in order to prove the change in seismicity character and reasons for the earthquake occurrence in the studied area. The mechanisms of seismic events of 2020 are classified as strike-slip faults, that is not character for the most earthquakes on the territory of Sakhalin Island. The authors made an attempt to determine the regularities of the parameters of the produced blasts and earthquakes through dynamic parameters of the seismic events foci by means of studying the frequency content of earthquakes and blasts in order to determine a corner frequency from the focal velocity spectrum.

The LOG-a-TEC testbed is a combined outdoor and indoor heterogeneous wireless testbed for experimentation with sensor networks and machine-type communications, which is included within the Fed4FIRE+ federation. It supports continuous deployment principles; however, it is missing an option to monitor and control the experiment in real-time, which is required for experiment execution under comparable conditions. The paper describes the implementation of the experiment control and monitoring system (EC and MS) as the upgrade of the LOG-a-TEC testbed. EC and MS is implemented within existing infrastructure management and built systems as a new service. The EC and MS is accessible as a new tab in sensor management system portal. It supports several commands, including start, stop and restart application, exit the experiment, flash or reset the target device, and displays the real-time status of the experiment application. When nodes apply Contiki-NG as their operating system, the Contiki-NG shell tool is accessible with the help of the newly developed tool, giving further experiment execution control capabilities to the user. By using the ZeroMQ concurrency framework as a message exchange system, information can be asynchronously sent to one or many devices at the same time, providing a real-time data exchange mechanism. The proposed upgrade does not disrupt any continuous deployment functionality and enables remote control and monitoring of the experiment. To evaluate the EC and MS functionality, two experiments were conducted: the first demonstrated the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) localization, while the second analysed interference avoidance in the 6TiSCH (IPv6 over the TSCH mode of IEEE 802.15.4e) wireless technology for the industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
