AbstractThis paper is devoted to the use of statistical methods to ensure the highest quality processes. Specifically, it deals with creating an application in MS Excel which evaluates standard statistical parameters and if the required process capability indices are complied with, then it is possible to proceed to SPC (statistical process control). The application was created in MS Excel using the Visual Basic for Application programming language. In addition to the required calculations, the application also generates forms with all important data. This application was designed to reduce reject rate and improve the production process in a contracting company.

A geographic information system (GIS) based graphical user interface for irrigation management within an ArcGIS customization has been developed using Visual Basic for Applications for estimation of spatially distributed irrigation water requirements. It is capable of providing an appropriate framework for manipulating, visualizing and analyzing spatial data to support decision making in irrigation management. Its application is demonstrated through a case study for use in the field.

A Feynman diagram generator, named FeynChois, is described. It provides the user with a full GUI (Graphical User Interface) environment which enables the generation diagrams automatically with several mouse operations. The diagram generator is built on an Application Programming Interface (API) called ViewableBeans which provides a framework for programming graphically representable objects. We also present a means for describing Feynman rules in a computer friendly manner using the XML (Extensible Markup Language) format.

The article is dedicated to the current state of the Geometry Database for the BM@N experiment of the NICA project. The main goal of the database is to provide a central storage of the BM@N geometries, convenient tools for managing its geometry modules, various software assembling versions of the BM@N setup as a combination of modules and additional files providing support for a set of versions. Both the Graphical User Interface (GUI) and the Application Programming Interface (API) have been developed.

This paper presents the development of a simulation program to improve the process planning and simulation for 4th axis machining in NX CAM systems. A customised graphical user interface (GUI) was developed to enhance the simulation process planning and reduce the dependency on the user’s experience while developing the machining program in NX CAM systems. The simulation operation was recorded using a journaling tool available in NX CAM while visual basic programming was utilised to customise the code. The results indicate that the developed programs are capable of optimising the 4th axis machining simulation by reducing the processing steps and time with minimum process planning tasks.

Perancangan sebuah prototipe sistem absensi mahasiswa telah dilakukan menggunakan sensor Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). Sistem RFID ini terdiri dari komponen tag dan reader. Tag digunakan sebagai pengganti ID card dan reader digunakan untuk membaca informasi menyangkut kehadiran mahasiswa. Alat yang dirancang terintegrasi dengan database kehadiran mahasiswa pada suatu matakuliah sehingga dapat berperan sebagai pengganti sistem absensi manual. Database kehadiran dibuat dengan MySQL XAMPP. Graphical User Interface (GUI) digunakan untuk interface antara pengguna dan database dengan format yang terdiri dari formportserial, forminputdata dan formdatabase. Sistem yang terintegrasi dengan database memungkinkan data untuk langsung disimpan secara otomatis ke dalam database sehingga memudahkan admin merekap kehadiran mahasiswa. Hasil pengujian terhadap lima kartu RFID menunjukkan bahwa reader memiliki kemampuan jarak baca maksimum 4 cm dengan tegangan keluaran RFID reader ≥ 3,2 V. Interval waktu pembacaan antara satu kartu dengan kartu berikutnya minimal 2 detik. Alat yang dirancang mampu memberikan keterangan hadir dan tidak hadir berdasarkan batas toleransi keterlambatan yang ditentukan. Penggunaan Real Time Clock DS1307 yang dapat bekerja selama maksimum satu jam. Kata kunci: database MySQL XAMPP, Radio Frequency Identification, Visual Basic

This paper is dedicated to the current state of the Geometry Database (Geometry DB) for the CBM experiment. The geometry DB is an information system that supports the CBM geometry. The main aims of Geometry DB are to provide storage of the CBM geometry, convenient tools for managing the geometry modules, assembling various versions of the CBM setup as a combination of geometry modules and additional files, providing support of various versions of the CBM setup. The development is based on the analysed users’ requirements (which were formulated in User Requirements Document) and takes into account peculiarities of the workflow for simulation of particle transport through the setup. Both the Graphical User Interface (GUI) and the Application Programming Interface (API) are available for the members of the CBM collaboration.
