In this paper, an integrated winding structure short-stroke DC planar motor is studied. The integrated winding structure and non-integrated winding structure are compared and two types of coil arrangements are proposed. Then, static characteristics analysis and structural optimization are made by using FEM. The influences of the main parameters on the electromagnetic force are analyzed respectively based on the finite element simulation.

In the analysis for overload characteristics of electromagnetic release with oil dashpot, it was difficult to calculate the dynamic behavior of the oil dashpot having long strokes and moving slowly. A method using finite element analysis to obtain the dynamic characteristics of the plunger in the oil dashpot has been developed. Based on the result of the static characteristics, the dynamic characteristics of oil dashpot release are simulated by using ADAMS. Then the relation between the oil damping coefficient and the plunger’s stroke has been discussed. As a result, it is facile to realize the regulation of tripping time for the release through changing the viscosity of silicon fluid.

The parameters of joint parts must be included in the finite element model of a whole grinding machine. The subject investigated in this paper is B2-K3000 high-precision composite flexible grinding machine. Through finite element modeling, the joint part parameters are integrated into the whole grinding machine model to establish a dynamic model and then analyze its static and dynamic characteristics. The result shows that the whole grinding machine possesses good features, but it still needs to be improved. This paper gives suggestions for its structure development and application.

The increasing need for energy storage technology has led to a massive interest in novel energy storage methods. The energy geomembrane system is such a novel energy storage method. The concept of the system is briefly introduced, and a holistic numerical model of the system is presented. The model uses advanced finite-element techniques to model the energy storage system using fluid cavity elements. The developed geomembrane energy system is modelled with different constitutive models to represent the soil behaviour: a linear elastic model, a nonlinear Mohr-Coulomb model, and a hypoplastic constitutive model. The consequences of these different models on the results are studied. Hereby, the focus is the first inflation and deflation cycle of the system.
