For many solitary wave applications, various approximate models have been proposed. Certainly, the most famous solitary wave equations are the K-dV, BBM and Boussinesq equations. The K-dV equation was originally derived to describe shallow water waves in a rectangular channel. Surprisingly, the equation also models ion-acoustic waves and magneto-hydrodynamic waves in plasmas, waves in elastic rods, equatorial planetary waves, acoustic waves on a crystal lattice, and more. If we describe all of the above situation, we must be needed a solution function of their governing equations. The Tan-cot method is applied to obtain exact travelling wave solutions to the generalized Korteweg-de Vries (gK-dV) equation and generalized Benjamin-Bona- Mahony (BBM) equation which are important equations to evaluate wide variety of physical applications. In this paper we described the soliton behavior of gK-dV and BBM equations by analytical system especially using Tan-cot method and shown in graphically. In this paper, Homotopy analysis method is applied to the nonlinear coupleddifferential equations of classical Boussinesq system. We have applied Homotopy analysis method (HAM) for the application problems in [1, 2, 3, 4]. We have also plotted Domb-Sykes plot for the region of convergence. We have applied Pade for the HAM series to identify the singularity and reflect it in the graph. The HAM is a analytical technique which is used to solve non-linear problems to generate a convergent series. HAM gives complete freedom to choose the initial approximation of the solution, it is the auxiliary parameter h which gives us a convenient way to guarantee the convergence of homotopy series solution. It seems that moreartificial degrees of freedom implies larger possibility to gain better approximations by HAM.

Nonequilibrium flows of an inhomogeneous liquid in channels and pipes are considered in the long-wave approximation. Nonlinear dispersion hyperbolic flow models are derived allowing taking into account the influence of internal inertia during the relative motion of phases upon the structure of nonlinear wave fronts. The asymptotic derivation of dispersion hyperbolic models is shown on the example of classical Boussinesq equations. It is shown that the hyperbolic approximation of the equations has the same order of accuracy as the primary model.

AbstractWe consider the hydrostatic Boussinesq equations of global ocean dynamics, also known as the “primitive equations”, coupled to advection–diffusion equations for temperature and salt. The system of equations is closed by an equation of state that expresses density as a function of temperature, salinity and pressure. The equation of state TEOS-10, the official description of seawater and ice properties in marine science of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission, is the most accurate equations of state with respect to ocean observation and rests on the firm theoretical foundation of the Gibbs formalism of thermodynamics. We study several specifications of the TEOS-10 equation of state that comply with the assumption underlying the primitive equations. These equations of state take the form of high-order polynomials or rational functions of temperature, salinity and pressure. The ocean primitive equations with a nonlinear equation of state describe richer dynamical phenomena than the system with a linear equation of state. We prove well-posedness for the ocean primitive equations with nonlinear thermodynamics in the Sobolev space $${{\mathcal {H}}^{1}}$$ H 1 . The proof rests upon the fundamental work of Cao and Titi (Ann. Math. 166:245–267, 2007) and also on the results of Kukavica and Ziane (Nonlinearity 20:2739–2753, 2007). Alternative and older nonlinear equations of state are also considered. Our results narrow the gap between the mathematical analysis of the ocean primitive equations and the equations underlying numerical ocean models used in ocean and climate science.
