The article presents the research in the design of a uniform medical suit and methods of implementing ergonomic requirements in the process of solving problems. The authors have chosen special uniforms for surgeons as an object of study and analysis. As a result of comparative analysis, it is noted that currently, the assortment does not meet consumer needs since many manufacturers do not attach much importance to the ergonomic requirements. The current domestic standards and regulatory and technical documents also do not always take into account the specialization and working conditions of a specialist. In the course of targeted research, the whole range of issues related to the pre-project analysis of the situation was resolved, the sequence of development of the design solution was indicated. The authors have given specific practical recommendations for the preparation of design documentation for a new model of a women's surgical blouse. The developed design documentation can serve as an information source when launching new models into industrial production since it is designed to meet the requirements for the ergonomics of surgeons.

The modelling of neuropsychiatric disease using the mouse has provided a wealth of information regarding the relationship between specific genetic lesions and behavioural endophenotypes. However, it is becoming increasingly apparent that synergy between genetic and nongenetic factors is a key feature of these disorders that must also be taken into account. With the inherent limitations of retrospective human studies, experiments in mice have begun to tackle this complex association, combining well-established behavioural paradigms and quantitative neuropathology with a range of environmental insults. The conclusions from this work have been varied, due in part to a lack of standardised methodology, although most have illustrated that phenotypes related to disorders such as schizophrenia are consistently modified. Far fewer studies, however, have attempted to generate a “two-hit” model, whereby the consequences of a pathogenic mutation are analysed in combination with environmental manipulation such as prenatal stress. This significant, yet relatively new, approach is beginning to produce valuable new models of neuropsychiatric disease. Focussing on prenatal and perinatal stress models of schizophrenia, this review discusses the current progress in this field, and highlights important issues regarding the interpretation and comparative analysis of such complex behavioural data.

Purpose The study aims to introduce two new models of project scheduling by incorporating potential quality loss cost (PQLC) in time–cost tradeoff problems by overcoming the drawbacks of the existing Kim, Khang and Hwang (KKH) model. The proposed methods are named the Revised KKH-I (RKKH-I) and Revised KKH-II (RKKH-II) models for project scheduling. Design/methodology/approach The performance of the existing KKH model has been tested using a numerical example followed by the identification of the main shortcomings of the KKH method. Later, a concrete effort has been made to address its shortcomings while improving its performance significantly. The comparative analysis of the Revised KKH models with the original model has also been presented along with sensitivity analyses. Findings The study recognizes that the construct on which the original KKH method was built is important; however, certain drawbacks make it unable to consider PQLC in projects, thus making its practical use questionable. The comparative analysis of the proposed methodology with the original method demonstrated that the new models (RKHH-I and II) are more comprehensive and intelligent than the existing KKH model. Originality/value The comparative analysis of the original KKH model and its improved version reveals that the revised model is far more suitable for project scheduling. The study is important for project managers who recognize project scheduling being one of the key parameters associated with project management process, crucial to control every day during the management of projects.

The article compares diversity indices applicability used in ecology to assess data types distribution for physical database schemes. The following dominance measures are used to assess the data type's diversity in the physical database scheme: Simpson's diversity index, Shannon diversity index, Simpson's evenness index, Pielu evenness index. A comparative analysis of the data type's diversity indicators for physical database schemes showed that the values of some indices obey certain rules. It is proposed to use diversity indices for physical database schemes' qualitative assessment. The indices considered in this work can also be used to build new models for assessing database complexity.

The article is devoted to analysing the role of hypotext of a children’s finger-play in Agatha Christie’s detective novel. Methods of hermeneutics and comparative analysis are applied to study levels of detail, motif, image system and structure. The researcher makes a conclusion that Agatha Christie continued trying new models of using folklore hypotext based on its peculiar features (such as verbal and kinetic components of a folklore game). The motif of a number five manifested in the title organises the text and gives an attentive reader a chance to solve the case. According to the researcher, the composition of "Five Little Pigs" is determined by a detective formula as well as the rules of the finger-play used as a hypotext.

Based on the analysis of the medium tanks development in the U.S.S.R., the U.S. and Germany in 1939 1945, the author makes an attempts to deduce the mental aspects of military technological rivalry. The development of the tanks is seen in the challengeanswer context, with purely national traits of these new models studied in terms of a comparative analysis of the machines characteristics, as well as their dynamics during the war. With all that in mind, the tank is perceived as the materialized plan of its authors, whose core characteristics (the size, firepower, defense, speed, ease of exploitation) were formed in accordance with the basic values of a specific national culture. The article clearly backs the idea that the military constructing schools of the U.S.S.R. and the U.S. formed their respective answers to Germanys tank challenge in accordance with the patterns and models that had more similarities than differences. The main aspect of both models was the desire to boost the mass production, while keeping the modernization at a minimum. Contrary to this, the German model relied on winning superiority based on the production of completely new tanks, which reflected the latest technological developments. At the same time, the American and German models had a common consideration for the ease in exploitation, something that was not seen as a priority in the Soviet model.

Abstract Access control is a part of the security of information technologies. Access control regulates the access requests to system resources. The access control logic is formalized in models. Many access control models exist. They vary in their design, components, policies and areas of application. With the developing of information technologies, more complex access control models have been created. This paper is concerned with overview and analysis for a number of access control models. First, an overview of access control models is presented. Second, they are analyzed and compared by a number of parameters: storing the identity of the user, delegation of trust, fine-grained policies, flexibility, object-versioning, scalability, using time in policies, structure, trustworthiness, workflow control, areas of application etc. Some of these parameters describe the access control models, while other parameters are important characteristics and components of these models. The results of the comparative analysis are presented in tables. Prospects of development of new models are specified.
