Fibroids arising from cervix are rare tumours accounting for 2% of all fibroids. A cervical leiomyoma is commonly single and is either interstitial or subserous, rarely it becomes submucous and polypoidal. Anterior cervical fibroid may press on urinary bladder and urethra and displace the urethro-vesical junction giving rise to urinary frequency and retention. Management of symptomatic cervical fibroid is hysterectomy or myomectomy and need an expert hand. Here we report a case of huge anterior cervical fibroid of 15x15x7cm with an unusual presentation of menorrhagia of only 2 days and no urinary symptoms. Inspite of the fibroid being huge and impacted, hysterectomy was done successfully without any injury to bladder and ureters.

Background: Preputial stone disease is the rarest type of urolithiasis. Adult males with severe phimosis and poor hygiene are mainly affected.Case Presentation: A 90-year-old male sought treatment for steadily worsening urinary frequency, intermittency, incontinence, and pain at the tip of his penis of 3-days duration. Clinical examination revealed a palpable distended urinary bladder, a partial phimosis and a round, hard on palpation, and partly ulcerative lesion at the tip of the foreskin. A single, 1 cm in maximum diameter stone, was incidentally discovered beneath the prepuce and subsequently removed from the preputial sac. The patient refused further treatment with circumcision, and opted for conservative therapy of benign prostate hyperplasia. Conclusion: Personal hygiene remains the cornerstone in the prevention of the preputial calculi formation, while circumcision represents the mainstay of treatment for definite stone removal and elimination of the precipitating causes.

Background. Lymphoma of the urinary bladder (LUB) is rare.Aims. To review the literature on LUB.Methods. Various internet databases were used.Results. LUB can be either primary or secondary. The tumour has female predominance; most cases occur in middle-age women. Secondary LUB occurs in 10% to 25% of leukemias/lymphomas and in advanced-stage systemic lymphoma. Less than 100 cases have been reported. MALT typically affects adults older than 60 years; 75% are female. Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is also common and may arise from transformation of MALT. LUB presents with haematuria, dysuria, urinary frequency, nocturia, and abdominal or back pain. Macroscopic examination of LUBs show large discrete tumours centred in the dome or lateral walls of the bladder. Positive staining of LUB varies by the subtype of lymphoma; B-cell lymphomas are CD20 positive. MALT lymphoma is positively stained for CD20, CD19, and FMC7 and negatively stained for CD5, CD10, and CD11c. LUB stains negatively with Pan-keratin, vimentin, CK20, and CK7. MALT lymphoma exhibits t(11; 18)(q21: 21). Radiotherapy is an effective treatment for the MALT type of LUB with no recurrence.Conclusions.LUB is diagnosed by its characteristic morphology and immunohistochemical characteristics. Radiotherapy is a useful treatment.

There is a need for standard functional and psychosocial measurements of compromised urinary bladder syndrome (CUBS). Utilizing Kolcaba’s Comfort Theory, the purpose of this study was to assess the psychometric properties and relationships among 8 measures of comfort, status of urinary frequency and incontinence, and quality of life. A convenience sample of 47 persons (45 women, 2 men) ages 25 to 92, who had UI for more than 6 months, was recruited. Data were collected twice with a 2-week interval. We examined (a) 1 measure of the immediate outcome of comfort related to CUBS, (b) 5 measures of UI status, and (c) 2 measures of quality of life. Reliabilities were adequate for all measures. Relationships among variables are presented and discussed. Recommendations are made for measures that detect improvement over time related to first line interventions.

We report a case of a vesicoenteric fistula arising from an adenocarcinoma of ectopic pancreatic tissue in a Meckel diverticulum in a 58-year-old man. The patient suffered from refractory micturition pain and increased urinary frequency. Computerized tomography with a contrast agent showed a ring-shaped enhanced mass near the dome of the urinary bladder. Magnetic resonance imaging showed a cystic mass close to the urinary bladder with partly irregular wall and fistula formation to the urinary bladder. Surgical findings showed a Meckel diverticulum in the ileum, which formed a fistula with the urinary bladder, and Meckel diverticulectomy and partial cystectomy were performed. Histological findings revealed a vesicoenteric fistula arising from a papillary adenocarcinoma of ectopic pancreatic tissue in a Meckel diverticulum. The patient has survived without recurrence for more than 4 years since surgery.
