This study determined the health and wellness program and new normal lifestyle of faculty performance of Cavite State University (CvSU). Specifically, the study sought answers to the following questions: What is the demographic profile of CvSU faculty in terms of; age; gender; sex; position; years in service? What is the level of health and wellness awareness programs of the in terms of: stress management; smoking cessation programs; health screening; exercise program activities; nutrition education? What is the new normal lifestyle of the professor of the Cavite state university in terms of; physical distancing; frequent hand sanitation; Wearing of face mask and face shield? What is the level of faculty performance in terms of teaching new normal lifestyle of CvSU faculty in terms of; teacher’s performance (2019-2020) teaching effectiveness? Is the demographic profile has a significant effect on the faculty effectiveness performance? Is the health and wellness awareness program has a significant effect in the new normal new normal lifestyle of the faculty of CVSU? In order to conduct this study, letters was sent to the University President Dr. Hernando D. Robles, asking permission and approval to conduct the study. Permission from the university Dean for each department. Preparation of self-made questionnaire by the researcher followed in order to obtain the necessary data on the health and wellness awareness programs to the new normal lifestyle of Cavite State University (CvSU) faculty and their performance. The respondents of the study included approximately fifty (50) Faculty of Cavite State University in any field of specialization. The research made questionnaires were checked by the thesis consultants. The copies were then converted and sent through google form, considering the health protocols. The study utilized a descriptive design. The main source of data which was prepared by the researcher, used a simple descriptive statistics such as T-test formula and the weighted mean to determine the mean level of the health and wellness program to the new normal lifestyle of the respondents. The gathered information were automatically transferred into spreadsheets by google form and were given to the researcher’s statistician for the treatment and analysis. The gathered data were interpreted and presented into matrix form and appropriate interpretation was made. The result showed that there is a partial significant effect of health and wellness program on the new normal lifestyle of CvSU faculty and their performance, and therefore the null hypothesis stating that there is no significant effect is partially rejected, it can be inferred that there is a significant effect between them. Abstract The Virginia Geriatric Education Center (VGEC)’s Geriatrics Workforce Enhancement Program (GWEP) partners with two programs, Senior Strong at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA and the Richmond Health and Wellness Program at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond VA to support their age-friendly initiatives. These programs enhance primary care for an older population experiencing adverse social determinants of health by providing screening around the 4Ms pillars of age-friendly healthcare and connecting participants with healthcare and community-based organizations. These programs offer a rich learning environment for interprofessional students. The VGEC GWEP strengthens these programs by developing faculty and student training in collaboration with the programs and facilitating program participation in the GWEP-CC Age-Friendly Action Community to develop and refine age-friendly practice workflows, referral pathways and documentation.

Family meals provide a unique opportunity for families to eat well and engage positively with each other. In response to the challenges presented by the COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) pandemic, a new initiative to support health care staff to share healthy meals with their families was developed. At a hospital in Queensland, Australia, dietetic staff collaborated with the on-site food service retailer to develop and offer a range of hot meals that staff could take home for their families at the end of their day. The meals were nutritious, reasonably priced, and designed to feed a family of four. The dietetic staff worked with the hospital marketing department and staff health and wellness program to promote the initiative. Over the 3 months that it has been running, nearly 300 meals have been purchased. Anecdotal comments from the food service retailer highlighted that the initiative was a good thing to do for staff to maintain a positive reputation of the business. The staff evening meal initiative is a healthy, affordable, educational, and socially engaging alternative to takeaway meals and food delivery by app, and it is mutually beneficial for health care staff and the on-site food retailer. The initiative also offers a unique opportunity for promoting nutrition and social engagement during stressful times.

ABSTRACT Objective This study aimed at knowing and analyzing sociocultural meanings of the daily dietary practices revealed by a university community, in the context of a wellness program to their community and its surroundings. Methods The research team ran 28 workshops with the participation of 34 university units and 558 subjects in total. All workshops were recorded and transcribed verbatim. Content analysis was performed with the identification of emerging themes and categories. Results From the analysis of this material four categories emerged. There is the desire caused by the pleasure of having meals in a group of people and consuming foods rich in fat and sugar, but with its consumption shrouded by guilt. Healthy foods were considered important but related to obligation and displeasure. The community also wants to consume healthy foods daily in the academic environment, however, pointed out barriers such as an increasing pace of work and lack of time. Conclusion It was possible to identify barriers and desires related to food practices in the daily life of the university. This study demonstrated that changing the eating behavior of an academic community is a major challenge for wellness programs, even for an institution that produces and disseminates scientific knowledge.

As part of the undergraduate curriculum, the Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of New Brunswick (UNB) requires all students to take an undergraduate course in physical activity, health and wellness in their third year of study. This capstone course allows students to integrate concepts from their program regarding physical activity, fitness, and wellness. While students have anecdotally indicated that this course has improved their knowledge of health and wellness, this data had not been quantitatively assessed previously. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the course on students’ views of the impact of physical activity on disease and overall health and wellness. A survey was administered to the students enrolled in the course at the beginning and again at the end of the semester. The survey requested data in four categories; 1) the demographics of the student, 2) students’ knowledge of health agencies and guidelines, 3) students’ physical activity, health and wellness awareness and 4) students’ self-assessment of their knowledge of physical activity and chronic disease. The data showed that, at the end of the course, students felt that they improved in three areas; 1) their knowledge of health agencies and guidelines, 2) their awareness of physical activity and its impact on health and wellness and 3) their knowledge of physical activity and chronic disease. The results of this work provided information on the impact of a required health and wellness course on students’ knowledge of health and suggested that the material in the course helped their overall understanding of health.

Caregivers report poorer health and wellness than the general population and identify numerous barriers to their attending programs to improve health and wellness.  The purpose of this study was to explore the feasibility of employing a telehealth delivery method to enhance access to caregiver wellness programs. This article presents the quantitative results of a mixed methods feasibility study of translating the Powerful Tools for Caregivers (PTC) program to a telehealth delivery format. Four unpaid family caregivers of older adults participated in a telehealth delivered PTC program, a wellness program with established outcomes in the in-person environment.  The program was delivered using synchronous videoconferencing methods. High class attendance and a high median total average Telehealth Usability Questionnaire score of 5.7 indicated the telehealth delivery method was feasible. This research suggests that telehealth is a feasible delivery format for a caregiver program traditionally delivered in an in-person format.
