PurposeThe purpose of this study is to investigate the potentials of blockchain technologies (BC) for supply chain collaboration (SCC).Design/methodology/approachBuilding on a narrative literature review and analysis of seminal SCC research, BC characteristics are integrated into a conceptual framework consisting of seven key dimensions: information sharing, resource sharing, decision synchronization, goal congruence, incentive alignment, collaborative communication and joint knowledge creation. The relevance of each category is briefly assessed.FindingsBC technologies can impact collaboration between transaction partners in modern supply chains (SCs) by streamlining information sharing processes, by supporting decision and reward models and by strengthening communicative relationships with SC partners. BC promises important future capabilities in SCs by facilitating auditability, improving accountability, enhancing data and information transparency and improving trust in B2B relationships. The technology also promises to strengthen collaboration and to overcome vulnerabilities related to moral hazard and shortcomings found in legacy technologies.Research limitations/implicationsThe paper is mainly focused on the potentials of BC technologies on SCC as envisioned in the current academic literature. Hence, there is a need to validate the theoretical inferences with other approaches such as expert interviews and empirical tests. This study is of use to practitioners and decision-makers seeking to engage in BC-collaborative SC models.Originality/valueThe value of this paper lies in its call for an increased focus on the possibilities of BC technologies to support SCC. This study also contributes to the literature by filling the knowledge gap of how BC potentially impacts SC management.

With technology advancement, industrial revolution 4.0, businesses nowadays are in competition in terms of product, service and business model innovation. Meanwhile, the emergent socio-ecological crisis is making it increasingly important to identify the impact of business on environment and the society. To date, much literature has explored how sustainability might be achieved through firms’ internal research and development, and supply chain collaboration. However, issues such as how different stakeholders including customers, partners, government, and universities can be involved, forming innovation ecosystem in a sustainable way is under-explored. This paper aims to provide connection between innovation and sustainability, through literature review and exploratory case studies. A conceptual framework is generated starting from firm/intra-firm level, to supply chain/inter-firm level, and towards ecosystem level. With emerging themes of innovation from sustainability perspective proposed, the framework can be enriched and validated through future empirical studies.

Objective - The Purpose of this study is to identify Supply Chain Management and performance measurement in BFM, benchmarked with other Pharmaceutical companies, and to create solutions in improving and developing Supply Chain Management using the Supply Chain Operations Reference model (SCOR). The Supply Chain Operations Reference Framework for supply chain collaboration (SCOR) model developed a set of performance metrics for collaboration, including reliability, flexibility and responsiveness, expenses, and assets/utilization. Methodology/Technique - The methodology of supply chain research in BFM was surveyed by field observation, interviews and research. Interviews were conducted to examine the main issues and a hypothesis was tested by applying SCOR model, which also includes green SCOR model as consideration of environmental management. Findings - This study found that problems arose in the Supply Chain Management of BFM are lead time issues and low performance compared to the score of Pharmaceuticals industry. Environmental management could not be measured using SCOR metrics at Plan Source stage due to limited supplier of BFM. Novelty : SCOR model was developed performance measurement integrated the supply chain scorecard for process control and result control. Counterfeiting is a problem many companies do not want to acknowledge or talk about. However, ignoring the problem is likely to have the effect of encouraging counterfeiters to go unchecked. A multilayered strategy that adopts several approaches and engages the entire organization is needed to address the counterfeiting problem. This chapter provides a set of recommendations to address the issue of counterfeiting. Initially, the size of the problem must be estimated and the return on investment approximated. This can help define the need for a team of experts to work in this area, leading to a set of performance metrics that are aligned with business objectives and outcomes. Next, the key focal product segments should be targeted and a system for identifying products through product trademark registration with customs authorities should be completed. In the end, combating counterfeiting is not a supply chain problem, it is not a legal problem, nor is it a packaging and covert marking problem. It is a global problem—one that impacts all organizations, large and small. All business functions need to be part of the discussion, not just a single brand security function. Failure to approach counterfeiting in this manner will simply allow the problem to continue to grow.
