For distributed data storage in Unattended Wireless Sensor Networks (UWSNs), security issues have been focused on by extensive researches in recent years. In this paper, an enhanced, reliable, and secure data distribution scheme based on erasure codes for UWSNs is proposed, which adapt the MOVE-ONCE survival strategy. In the proposed scheme, two-hop neighbor set has been utilized as data shareholders of data distribution. Through the analysis, we can find that there is more number of candidate secure data holders in two-hop neighbor set than one-hop neighbor set. Thus our new scheme could further enhance both probabilistic Backward Secrecy (BSe) and the reliability on data retrieval. Theoretical analysis and dense simulations show advantages of our new scheme which is compared with several previous related schemes proposed for UWSNs.

Nowadays P2P is the premier data distribution technology which tops Internet traffic flow chart. It becomes more and more important to optimize the data flow of P2P traffic. However, there is no general standard for measuring which data distribution scheme is better. A network expense model is proposed for this purpose. By observing the data flows which are produced by P2P, we can calculate the network expense of any data distribution scheme. Now there is a unified standard for evaluating the influence of different data distribution schemes to the network. According to this model, the network expense of a few typical P2P data distributions scheme over the Internet is calculated. Judging from the results, a topology-aware P2P can generate more balanced flows to save the bandwidth of backbone network. Network expense model provide a fundamental tool for optimizing the P2P data distribution.

AbstractThe IUE project is described, with special emphasis on the IUE data management and archive retrieval. This paper briefly describes a more specific data center providing also a service to the astronomical community, or more precisely a group of data centers dedicated to a given instrument. This instrument is the IUE ( International Ultraviolet Explorer) launched on Jan. 26, 1978 and collecting since then spectral images of all kinds of celestial objects in the ultraviolet wavelength range.
