Wireless sensor network has many sensor nodes with characteristics of limited cost, collecting data, good fault tolerance and storage. It has been used in environmental monitoring, health care, military and commercial. Coverage control is a significant issue that needs to be solved in wireless sensor networks. In order to solve the problem of overlapping coverage for environmental monitoring and improve coverage rate, an improved immune fuzzy genetic algorithm (IIFGA) based on cluster head selection is proposed. the mathematical model is systematically described. In the experiments, ant colony optimization (ACO) and simulated annealing (SA) are given to compare the performance of IIFGA. The experiments show the proposed coverage control algorithm has a higher convergence speed and improve the coverage rate.

The self-positioning for the nodes is the prerequisite for wireless sensor network to work, especially considering that the deployment of underwater node changes rapidly in position. Taking the issue of energy efficiency and prolong the network lifetime into account, the energy-efficient positioning technology of the underwater acoustic sensor network is studied in this paper .Brief introduction of the current node positioning technology is concluded in this paper too. Similarly to the overlapping ideological positioning algorithm FTPL we introduce RSSI but not for the ranging. Also discuss the inadequacies of our new algorithm, and the possible improvements. Simulation results show that the improved algorithm has good improvement in both the accuracy and the energy efficiency.

Clustering of the sensors in wireless sensor network is done to achieve energy efficiency. The nodes, which are unable to join any cluster, are referred to as isolated nodes and tend to transfer information straight to the base station. It is palpable that isolated nodes and cluster heads communicate with the base station and tend to exhaust their energy leaving behind coverage holes. In this paper, we propose the innovative clustering scheme using mobile sink approach to extend networks lifetime. The proposed (ORP-MS) algorithm is implemented in MATLAB 2017a and the results revealed that the proposed algorithm outdid the existing algorithms in terms networks lifetime and energy efficiency simultaneously achieved high throughput.
