Research of constructing method of manufacturing cells based on grey clustering

Cell formation, scheduling, and facility layout are three main decisions in designing manufacturing cells. In this paper, we address the integration of these decisions in virtual manufacturing cells considering assembly aspects and process routing. We develop a mathematical model to determine the machine cells, the layout of machines and workstations on the shop floor, the processing route of parts, and the production sequence of operations on the machines. In this mathematical model, material handling costs and cycle time are minimized. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first paper that concurrently addresses the scheduling and layout of virtual manufacturing cells with assembly aspects and so-called criteria. To effectively solve the problem, a Population-based Simulated Annealing (PSA) combined with linear programming is proposed. The practical usability of the developed model is demonstrated in a case study. Finally, instances from the literature are solved to evaluate the performance of the PSA. The comparison results showed the superior performance of the PSA in comparison with CPLEX solver and standard simulated annealing.

PPP model is an important model which provides public products or services based on the coordination between the public sector and private sector. The implementation of PPP model is helpful for relieving the stress of insufficient funding for public sector and improving the efficiency of resource allocation. Comparing with traditional infrastructure project, PPP project involves many stakeholders, and the cooperation efficiency during the different stakeholders impacts the results of the project directly. Thus, it is important to explore the cooperation efficiency of PPP project. Based on grey clustering model, this paper evaluates the cooperation efficiency of PPP project. An evaluation index system including 36 indexes is established based on the aims and objectives of three stakeholders (public sector, private sector, and passengers). A case study of Beijing Metro Line 4 PPP project is implemented to verify the validity and applicability of the evaluation model. And the results showed that the cooperation efficiency of Beijing Metro Line 4 PPP project is relatively high. The model also provided insights into the shortage of the cooperation efficiency of Beijing Metro Line 4 PPP project. As such, the results can assist all stakeholders in adjusting the cooperation efficiency.

In order to solve the problem of health evaluation of CNC machine tools, an evaluation method based on grey clustering analysis and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation was proposed. The health status grade of in-service CNC machine tools was divided, and the performance indicator system of CNC machine tools was constructed. On the above basis, the relative importance of each performance and its indicators were combined, and grey clustering analysis and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation was utilized to evaluate the health status of in-service CNC machine tools to determine their health grade. The proposed health status evaluation method was applied to evaluate the health level of an in-service gantry CNC machine that can be used for the machining propellers, and the results shown that the health status of the whole gantry CNC machine tool is healthy. The proposed evaluation method provides useful references for further in-depth research on the health status analysis and optimization of CNC machine tools.
