PCD tools, especially curve edge PCD compound tools are used widely in machining nonferrous and non-metal materials with high efficiency and precision because of their excellent cutting properties. But high quality grinding of PCD tools is the uppermost obstacle in application because there are great difficulties to profile and sharpen edge in grinding, especially for milling cutter and drill with curve edge. This paper studied technology of wire EDG curve edge PCD compound tools by wire electrical discharge grinding machine with five-axis CNC system. The grinding quality was evaluated by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and roughometer. Three steps processing technique (roughing, finishing and fine finishing) and optimal process parameters of wire EDG PCD tools were recommended after considering synthetically the surface quality, precision and machining efficiency. The results met the requirement of high surface quality, precision and efficiency. This paper also applied successfully the optimal technology to grind a PCD milling cutter with outer and inner blade by electrical discharge grinding machine with five-axis CNC system. By the optimal parameters, the process yielded high precision of ±4.3µm and low roughness of 0.30µm. Experiment results have great practical significance to the high precise and efficient wire EDG of PCD tools.

Five-axis machining area of free surface is proposed by based on ARM9 and Linux open CNC system's overall structure of the CNC system hardware and software architecture. The system adopts the mode of the host computer PC, the lower computer ARM9 development board. PC completes the model of space surface and generates tool path by Simultaneous Multi-objective Optimization Algorithm on Free-form Surface Five-Axis Machining Tool Path and Tool Posture. The lower computer applies MYSQL database to storage and manage cutter location point information. Other modules access the database through ODBC standard interface. ARM9and PC utilize the way of cross-platform socket data transmission, the stepper motors is controlled by the way of constant acceleration - deceleration.

To solve the problem which current research of RTCP function is limited to high-grade CNC system. Based on limited computational resources of the embedded CNC system, analyzes and modeling calculates RTCP function of CA double swing structure, and points out the offset distance is only related to the chord length corresponding to the arc length that the rotating radius crosses, and obtains the calculation formula of compensation. Finally, gives the implementing flow chart of the RTCP algorithm for low-cost embedded CNC system.

Abstract. PC-based open CNC system can fully take advantage of the computer's hardware and software resources, which can use a common high-level language: Visual C++ or Visual Basic to program. User can mix and use the standardized peripherals, application software flexibly, we use the self-developed five-axis CNC machine is experimental platform, which can develop open CNC system based on PC and motion control card. Using of five-axis machine motion control design based on "PC + motion control card" on Visual C++ platform.

Because of the rotate kinematics, the machining of 5-axis brings up the non-linear error. The RTCP (Rotation Tool Center Point) function can always make the interpolated point on the programming track by a real-time linear compensation of CNC system for motion of the rotary axes. Based on detailed analysis of the kinematics principle of 5-axis machine with dual rotary tables, a new design of interpolated algorithm integrated with RTCP function is presented which is simulated in MATLAB, and the result indicates that the algorithm can reduce the non-linear error effectively.

Taking A-C axis dual rotary working table of 5-axis CNC system as an example, the function of RTCP is introduced and the performing difference between standard NC code and RTCP code is analyzed in this paper. Then, the calculation method of RTCP compensation error has been illustrated. Taking the high precision as the objective, a new real time compensation RTCP module theory is presented and its algorithm implementation process is introduced. Then, this algorithm has been simulated using MATLAB and validated in hardware platform.
