Positioning accuracy of servo feed unit makes an important effect to processing precision in CNC machine tools. The effects in positioning accuracy mainly are the precisions of mechanism and servo system. And the actions of tuning controller gains should directly affect the servo system precision. This paper, a servo system model and its P/PI controller has been formulated and simulated, using an AC servo feed unit as a tested. Through tuning gains of P/PI controller, analyses and control the effects for the feed unit positioning accuracy. Ultimately, experiments have been carried out to test feed unit by laser interferometer. Its shows that tuning gains of P/PI controller, which given in paper, has effectively improved the positioning accuracy of servo feed unit.

To optimizing efficiently control parameters in feed servo system for adequately giving out the CNC machine tools, the velocity loop control model is built, and the comprehensive evaluation function is given. The standard particle swarm algorithm is improved to optimizing the parameters of velocity loop control in CNC machine tools. It shows the best overall performance of the velocity loop in CNC machine tools that parameters optimized by improved particle swarm algorithm Compared with genetic algorithm, the standard particle swarm algorithm and handy calculation. This optimized algorithm is a new efficient ways to solve parameter optimization of CNC servo control system.

Feed servo system is an important part in CNC machine tool. In order to promote CNC machine tools precision, it is particularly important to enhance the control methods research on feed servo system. In this paper, different mathematical models of CNC machine tools feed servo system in different control modes are established, and their transfer functions are obtained, also the corresponding simulation models are constructed by using Simulink tools under MATLAB environment. Through simulating, the relationship between the systems parameters and the performance of servo system are obtained, some reliable theoretical basis can be achieved for improving and enhancing CNC machine tool servo system performance. Therefore some references for the performance optimization of feed servo system in CNC machine tool are provided.

The requirements of CNC machine tools for the feed servo system could generally be summarized as high precision, well stability, fast response, wide range of speed regulation, high torque at low speed and so on. The PID controller of feed servo-system based on intelligent fuzzy control was presented based on traditional PID controller. The main feature of this arithmetic was to change parameters in different degrees according to time-varying working conditions, specially this arithmetic could change its domain intelligently according to different conditions and cooperated with a stable controller in case of system crash so that adaptivity and reliability of the feed servo-system were improved, also this feature made application field of the feed servo-system wider.

The control program and servo system of CNC machine tools is analyzed. By pitch error and quadrant error compensation, the positioning accuracy in X-direction is ± 20 μ m.
