Background: Various relevant patents and papers which have reported noncircular gears synthesize the advantages of circular gears and cam mechanisms, and are widely used in many types of mechanical instruments. Hobbing is a better method for fabricating noncircular gears. There are 4 linkagemethods to hob noncircular gears. However, which linkage method should be chosen practically has not yet been reported. Objective: The goal of this work is to choose the best linkage method for hobbing noncircular gears. Method: Firstly, the hobbing models of noncircular gears was deduced. Then, based on the model, hobbing linkage methods of noncircular gears were obtained. Thirdly, under different hobbing linkage methods, their aspects (developing regularity of hobbing cutter trace, arc length of program blocks and motion axes of machine tools) were compared. Results: Finally, with the best characteristics of a high density of shaping cutter trace, high uniformity of arc length of program blocks and ease of control, the equal arc-length of gear billet (EALGB) is obtained. It has been proven that EALGB is an excellent linkage method to hob noncircular gears. Conclusion: It has been proven that EALGB is an excellent linkage method to hob noncircular gears.

In this article we report on a 3 × 3 mm tactile interaction sensor that is able to simultaneously detect pressure level, pressure distribution, and shear force direction. The sensor consists of multiple mechanical switches under a conducting diaphragm. An external stimulus is measured by the deflection of the diaphragm and the arrangement of mechanical switches, resulting in low noise, high reliability, and high uniformity. Our sensor is able to detect tactile forces as small as ~50 mgf along with the direction of the shear force. It also distinguishes whether there is a normal pressure during slip motion. We also succeed in detecting the contact shape and the contact motion, demonstrating potential applications in robotics and remote input interfaces. Since our sensor has a simple structure and its function depends only on sensor dimensions, not on an active sensing material, in comparison with previous tactile sensors, our sensor shows high uniformity and reliability for an array-type integration.

Chinese garden art has developed gradually along with the neutralization--lasting appeal--artistic conception trend till to the peak, meanwhile, those aesthetic forms can be existed synchronously with historical advancement, logic arrangement in parallel and correspondence as well as abundance and deepening of the interior connotation and exterior extension, which represent the high uniformity of the development history and logics of Chinese garden art. Nowadays, the landscape garden development is required to probe its root, explore its cultural soul, so as to base itself upon the garden industry all over the world. Additionally, the function of traditional aesthetic form will show the powerful functions, declare publicly the deep influence of modernized landscape garden development.
