Dark-matter subhalos, predicted in large numbers in the cold-dark-matter scenario, should have an impact on dark-matter-particle searches. Recent results show that tidal disruption of these objects in computer simulations is overefficient due to numerical artifacts and resolution effects. Accounting for these results, we re-estimated the subhalo abundance in the Milky Way using semianalytical techniques. In particular, we showed that the boost factor for gamma rays and cosmic-ray antiprotons is increased by roughly a factor of two.

Social media, one of the greatest tools for sharing information, are used for various purposes in health like educational and promotional activities, communication - of research findings and during crisis readiness. In addition, online conference and webinar for health purpose, e-procurement of health commodities and telemedicine are some domains where we use social media. In contrast to these, it brings out various ill impacts on health directly or indirectly, such as cyberbullying, depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, physical inactivity- a boost factor for non-communicable diseases and internet addiction. As this field is new in health and being used innovatively, issues of their effectiveness, privacy and confidentiality begin to rise. Moreover, authenticity of the health information available on social media is another issue, all of which need guidance by evidence based acts and regulations. Else, it may harm the belief of users on the platform, which is the future for health information sharing. With very few researches done regarding the use of internet and social media, and increasing addiction towards them possesses an extra threat to health in Nepal. Hence, research regarding possible hazards of social media use and relative effectiveness of social media over other communication channel is needed, to develop necessary strategies to overcome possible threats to health and utilize social media for health to its optimum potential.

In recent years, the quasi -switched boost inverter uses widely in electrical systems. This paper proposes a method to control the AC output voltage and reduce the current ripple of the booster inductor in the quasi-switched boost inverter (QSBI). The proposed technique base on carrier pulse width modulation with two triangles with phase shifts 90◦. This technique uses the offset function to expand the modulation index and the algorithm for output voltage stabilization based on the adjustment of the boost ratio. The modulation index expansion will reduce the stress voltage on the switches by an average of 16.5% under the simulated conditions. The boost factor base on the short circuit time on the DC / DC booster and the inverter on the zero vectors. So, the duty ratio (of the boost DC / DC) can reduce by the short-circuit pulses that insert in the position of zero vectors, so the inverter is responsible for both boosting and inverting. The combination helps to reduce the current ripple on the boost inductor. Besides that, reducing the short-circuit ratio of DC / DC booster will also reduce the capacity of the booster switch and thereby reduce the production cost. The analysis clarifies the proposed technique. Simulations and experiments evaluate the proposed method.

Abstract The high power dissipation is one of the most important problems of the z-source inverter (ZSI). By using an appropriate optimization scheme, the losses can be significantly reduced without any negative impact on the other characteristics of the inverter. In this paper, a multi-objective optimization is implemented in order to reduce the ZSI total losses as well as to improve the z-source active power filter (APF) performance. The optimization is focused on the four important objectives including power losses of the Z-source APF, the initial cost of the system components, the voltage and current ripples, and the boost factor of the z-source network. For these purposes, the multi-objective genetic algorithm (MOGA) is employed. The numerical and simulation results are presented to evaluate the optimization performance. The results show that a good balance can be achieved between the switching power losses, the voltage-current ripple levels, the component costs and the boost factor using the optimized parameters.

A new modulation strategy has been introduced in this paper in order to enhance the boost factor for the three-level quasi-switched boost T-type inverter (3L-qSBT2I). Under this approach, the component rating of power devices is significantly decreased. Moreover, the use of a larger boost factor produces a smaller shoot-through current. This benefit leads to reducing the conduction loss significantly. Furthermore, the neutral voltage unbalance is also considered. The duty cycle of two active switches of a quasi-switched boost (qSB) network is redetermined based on actual capacitor voltages to recovery balance condition. Noted that the boost factor will not be affected by the proposed capacitor voltage balance strategy. The proposed method is taken into account to be compared with other previous studies. The operation principle and overall control strategy for this configuration are also detailed. The simulation and experiment are implemented with the help of PSIM software and laboratory prototype to demonstrate the accuracy of this strategy.
